stayed for 5 nights in a crystal double room with unobstructed view of the Eiger. For 130chf per night, we thought it was value for money. Location was 5 min from railway station - walk toward hotel regina and continue downhill past Hotel Belvedere. 10 min from Mannlichen cable car station and 15 min from First cable car station. Breakfast was good, and so was half board dinner - 35CHF per pax. Rooms were comfortable, but no safe/hot water kettle (pay 2CHF for hot water). We had to trot to reception to get towels/hot water/etc - not sure if that's because we were in a separate building from Reception.

Loved the view from our room facing the Eiger and the Grindelwald valley.
The staff was extremely friendly and was always eager to help out.
Rooms and bathrooms were not in great condition.
The walk to the hotel from the train station is downhill. Ask for porter help to carry your luggages to the train station. This will help you avoid pulling your luggage uphill from the hotel.

We had a comfortable stay in the chalet part of the hotel. Rooms are well maintained and clean
Buffet breakfast is good, although the place is sometimes crowded due to groups of tourists.
Staff is very helpful. Good value for money.
Advice: Ask a room facing the Eiger mountain, the views are stunning.

We got a double room with a balcony on the second floor. The room has modern fittings and adequate furniture to make it a very comfortable stay. The hotel is well maintained and very clean. Our room balcony had an open view of the Eiger mountain and the green valley. Buffet breakfast was inclusive and it was good. What we liked about this hotel were its very helpful staff - they were all so polite, well-trained and attentive. There is onsite free parking and it gave us a lot of convenience as we could leave the car and walk to the cable car stations.
