We stayed with our 10 and 8 year-old children at the hotel for four nights in mid-January. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the ones in the restaurant, they were so sweet! The room was spatial, clean and warm. Our children loved the outdoor salt-water pool. It was really fun to go in there when it was snowing! Breakfast and dinner were gorgeous! We definitely want to go there again next year!

Room Tip: I guess it will be even nicer if you can get a room with the mountain view rather than the garden vi...

Super, that is what I call your review. Many thanks. I remember your family very well. Unfortunately not many guests from Asia are coming to see us in the winter time. We hope that this will change soon. Thank you for staying at the family run Hotel Belvedere, thank you so much for your visit. We are very happy to read, that you intend to return next year. Thanks to our regular clientele, many having been returning since 10 or even 20 years, our family hotel does still exist. Even from Asia we have guests who stayed with us over 10 times. We are already looking forward to welcoming your family back. When you return, please take all your friends with you, that would be just wondeful.

Probably the best hotel in which I ever stayed. Fine situation, terrific warm friendly staff, fine food that looks as good as it tastes, comfortable rooms and great indoor pool, outdoor Jacuzzi (great in the snowy night!) and facilities. Highly recommended for a memorable holiday.

Dear Belvedere guest from the UK.
wonderful to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you consider our hotel as one of the best. We are of course only a small family run hotel and cannot really compete with the best luxury hotels of this world. But we are only a 4 star hotel, where the human factor plays a very important role. Our guests are very important to us and we try to show them and offer them the best holiday possible. We like to welcome guests from all over the world in our hotel, that makes our profession so interesting. We are so happy that you have chosen the Belvedere for your stay in Grindelwald and we hope to soon have the great pleasure and honor of welcoming you back. You know, the summer season in our valley, when all the meadows are dark green with mountain flowers of all colours everywhere, is very special too.
Thanks so much again for your help. Reviews like yours are very important for us, as our small hotel does not have a marketing budget for big promotions.

“Worth the money”

The accomodations were very nice. Breakfast was outstandig along wity the view of the Eiger. Outdoor Salt Water Jacuzzi was the bomb. Staff was firnely and acommodating. Free shuttle service to Mannlichen and Grindelwald 1st. Would definitely stay here again

Dear Belvedere guest.
Wonderful news, great news, thank you so much for your review. You write, that our hotel is worth the money. The Swiss Franc is right now (2012) overvalued by 30% to 40% (depending on currency). This means, would the Swiss Franc have its correct value, we would be cheaper by that percentage. We found out, that an American guest, who stayed with us last summer, paid for an Eiger facing Junior-Suite US$ 600 and we found out, that he had paid $ 300.- for the same room when he was with us the last time. The amount charged in our currency, the Swiss Francs was however both times the same, that means in other words, that the US dollar has lost half of its value against the Swiss Franc since his last visit. This is a fact and it is simply not fair, that some Hedge fond managers try to kill the Swiss export companies and the tourism sector to optimise their profits.
We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon and we hope, that the Swiss Franc will lose a lot of value soon.

“Fantastic as always!”

This was our fourth year at the Belvedere, and as usual the standard of the hotel was outstanding. The cuisine is exceptional as is the service from the very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our Eiger view room was confortably furnished and the view was staggering. We will definately be back again.

Room Tip: Pick a high floor Eiger view room..... amazing

Very many thanks for having returned to our hotel. We highly appreciate your loyalty. And thank you also for having written another fantastic review. Tripadvisor is getting more and more popular and reviews like yours get more and more valuable.
Switzerland has a big problem right now, as some guys on some stock markets managed to make the Swiss Franc so expensive, that it is about 40% overvalued now. This means, our products, our services have increased by that percentage and that without having added one single penny to our rates. Unfortunately this will kill a lot of businesses, only in Grindelwald two hotels had to close within the last 3 month.
We will do our utmost to survive also that crisis and regular guests like you will be one of the decisive factors. Wishing you all the best and hoping that you will return in the not too distant future, we remain with best regards.

“Great with Kids”

We stayed at the Belvedere as part of a week spent hiking in the local area. Amazing staff who will help with all requests. It was a great vacation with our 6 year old as well. Very accommodating and great pool facility. It is our daughter's favorite hotel. The food is outstanding as is the wine they produced to celebrate their recent anniversary. The local area is quiet with few activities outside of hiking and enjoying the gorgeous surroundings.

Very many thanks for having chosen the Belvedere for your stay in Grindelwald. And thank you so much for having taken your time to write that wonderful review. Our hotel offers several different kind of family rooms and family suites. There is also a Games room for children and most of the children love, just like their parents, the Outdoor Salt Water Jacuzzi, We are very happy to hear, that we are the favourite hotel of your daughter and hope that she will be able to convince you to return soon. Grindelwald is also very special in the summer time, be it for an active holiday, be it to just enjoy nature. During school holidays there is also a special children program, run by the local Tourist Office.
