We stayed two nights for a skiing trip. The room was quite traditional, fairly large with a view to the mountains. It was a little cold, but it was the coldest weekend of the year outside. The bar area was cosy and the breakfast buffet had a nice selection. Staff were friendly and all spoke good English. The location is literally on the station platform but there is no noise from the trains and it is super convenient. The ski room is in the basement and has heated racks to warm up your boots, which is lovely. However you are not allowed to use the hotel lift and need to walk up the steps outside of the hotel to get to the train.

Just returned from a weeks skiing holiday. The hotel is in an ideal location right on the railway station (but not noisy). It is 1 minute away from local buses The family who own the hotel were very caring and the staff too. We had a bowl of fresh fruit in our room on arrival, mid-week we had chocolate and when we checked out we were given a lovely big piece of Swiss cheese. we couldnt fault the hotel. We have been skiing for over 20 years and this was our best overall experience (although having lots of snow was a big factor)

You would have to go out of your way to criticise the Derby. Back from our third winter visit to the hotel we found it again to be all we expected. Ideally located, front entrance onto station platform, but without noise ! Rooms warm and comfortable. Staff superb, friendly and prepared to have a bit of a laugh with us. Food and service was excellent. We would recommend the hotel.

Just got back from Hotel Derby after 1 week of skiiing. We initially booked a double room with balcony and view of the Eiger. On arrival the room had two separate beds and was a bit on the small side. We upgraded to a suite and this was lovely. The staff are excellent and the food is very good. would recommend the hotel.
