We have been staying two nights at the hotel during the weekend. Probably because of the film festival, the room was CHF 240 a night, not too expensive for Swiss standards but being quite used to hotels, too expensive for this one though. it might be because it was an overcrowded time, but we had reserved for 2 and the hotel booked a single room (I believe this can always happen in spite of a good service) and we finally got a room just next to the service room on the 3rd floor. In spite of a nice welcome and an indeed very nice breakfast, we were disappointed by a truly tasteless decoration and a very small bathroom offering absolutely no intimacy. We were disturbed by the strong smell of cigarette smoke coming from next door (we were in a non smoking room and the smell was strong) and most of all of the noise. Again, we weren't luck probably but we could hear very well the chairs and tables being displaced (probably from the restaurant). The noise was so disturbing that we had to bang against the wall at 2 in the morning.... Apart from that the bed was very comfortable and the view charming.

nice hotel in the city of solothurn. Excellent food, wonderful breakfast above all the swiss müsli. friendly staff, friendly hotel owners. comfortable.

Absolutely charming hotel. Great location, wonderful people and terrific food. Perfect stay.
