Stayed there for business , 2 nights in July 2011.
The hotel is well situated . Breakfast restaurant and veranda bar at night were great.
My room on the 2nd floor was big in size and small to tiny in windows.
It felt a bit stuffy. Air-con being outdated didn't help much.
Room decore is old-fashioned and very dark.
Bed was comfortable with crisp white linen.
Bathroom is big. well equipped with great amenities.
WiFi in the room wasn't great . An occasional faint signal. Tried linking with cable , but this was a price trap , which I caught on time.
Hotels should offer free Wifi connection. Expensive hotels like this one should pay their guests to use wifi
I'll be back if I have to be in Neuchatel .

Pros
-Large, well appointed rooms...especially when compared to other European hotels
-Lovely location...directly on the lake, 2 minute walk to town
-Great bathroom...large, clean, well designed

Cons
-Although generally friendly and efficient, the front desk seems to be run very rigidly. One of my colleagues was treated quite harshly until SHE offered to upgrade to solve the problem.
-No free WIFI, not even in the lobby
-Thin walls...I could hear coughing in the next room

I have stayed in this hotel (same room actually) twice in the past 10 months and my wife a 3rd time. It is arguably the best hotel in Neuchatel with a great location on the lake and a short walking distance to the pedestrian malls and restaurants. The bar is the best of all the local hotels and friends who stayed at other hotels would congregate at Beau-Rivage after their dinners. The only negative is the price - it is not cheap and if you have to change your reservation they are not flexible and will (and did) charge a cancellation fee - despite more than 24 hours notice.

The Hotel is okay. It is small and there is a lot of staff around. The rooms are clean and large, but the colours are dark, unfriendly and did not make me feel like at home.

The breakfast was good, but also very expensive. The parking was also outrageously expensive.

The dinner was not really the highlight of our meeting, the food was average to low, the wine was good and so was also the waiters.

I can recommend the beau rivage for what it is, but not for the price the asked us!
