We stayed there for 3 nites.
It is good for its locality which is near to the famous Wooden Bridge and within walking distance to the Train Station. It is quite centrally located.
The hotels in Switzerland are very dear and this is within our affordable range.
The room is recently refurbished and I must say it is very contemporary and fresh looking, clean.
It has the basics but no tea/coffee making, ironing facility. It does have a TV set though.
The shower corner is very small but does the job.
The accommodation comes with free breakfast. The food range is rather limited and the same throughout our period of stay. I was rather disappointed in this aspects.,
The staff and landlady are very friendly though.
Anyway, if U are on a budget, this hotel is a pleasant one and in a good locality too.

Hotel Goldener Stern in Luzern is a great little spot to rest and relax after a long day of sightseeing and traveling. The rooms are small, but they are very comfortable and clean. The complementary continental breakfast was delicious, and there were a nice variety of things to eat. The hotel restaurant is a very good choice for supper as well! We have stayed at the Hotel Goldener Stern twice, and we highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Wonderful location in old town. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Great value.

We lived in this hotel in August, 11 . The room was clean although washroom was very small which I think is the norm in Switzerland, for the rate we paid. There is no air conditioning in the room but since we left early morning and returned late, it didn't really bother us..The breakfast was good with fresh baked breads and jams, scrambled eggs and with hot tea/coffee/chocolate..The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal, close to the lake and you could walk to the bus stations and train station. The only negative thing is that it faces a church and if you are a light sleeper, you'll be disturbed by the frequent ringing of the church bell..

Still, Switzerland being so costly, we would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot but want a decent service..
