My husband and i had been planning our european adventure trip for months now, and going to lucern was going to be the tail end of our trip. I had seen pictures of this hotel on their website, and because it was on the lake, it looked quaint and nice. I constantly told my friends and family that i could not wait to go to this hotel and just sit by the lake all day!! I was told my husband that the actual hotel isn't in Lucerne, but in some other town, but i didn't listen because it was still on the lake. Well, the biggest regret of this trip was staying at this disgusting bug infested hotel. The one review it got which was good blows my mind!! First, there was no air conditioning, and if you opened your window, the room was instantly taken over by mosquitos, and other insect life. But, if you didn't open them, you were literally in a sauna. However, the horror doesn't end there! In the corners of the room there were ants crawling on the ceiling, and there were even some crawling on our bed. Oh, and speaking of beds?! The pillow cases may as well have been empty as there was no form and cushioning whatsoever. The real kicker however was yes the hotel was on the lake, but there was no walking space that one could take a leisurely stroll on. When we asked the front desk if you could walk on the lake, she told us we would have to go to lucerne for that...... a fourty minute ferry ride away!!
So, if you would like to stay in a sleepy little town with nothing to do at all, and stay in a bug infested, hot as hell hole in the wall hotel, by all means book this hotel. Oh, and one more tiny little thing. It was expensive on top of everything!!!!
