I just came back from a business trip to Lucerne. I stayed for one night at the Hotel Cascada which is conveniently close to the railroad station. This convenience does come at a price, you can frequently hear the sounds of the passing trains which can disturb your sleep. The pillows are awful, very big and extremely soft. Naturally you can contact the reception for a normal pillow but I was so tired I didn´t bother. The hotel has a nice restaurant which is Spanish style.
The food is quite good and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The same restaurant is used in the morning for breakfast.
The hotel offers you free wifi which is a plus and the signal strength is extremely good. Normally in Switzerland, internet connection in hotels is extremely expensive. Also the hotel is very close to the various bus stops.
All in all it´s a very good hotel but make sure you get a room facing the back of the hotel.
