I'm a person that perfers simple hotels that brings great value for money and this hotel suits me perfect. Hotel Hoheneck has it's own charm with an old swiss style. The standard of the rooms have varied (have stayed their 3 times) but it seems that they are investing and the standard is getting better. The most important is that its clean and everything is working.
I like the location in the middle of the village. Skibus is the most conveinent way to get to Titlis and this applies for most of the hotels in Engelberg.
Friendly staff and a nice bar (with live music during the ski season) where I have met a lot of nice people, both locals and visitors.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 days and had a very pleasant stay. The rooms are basic but very nice and clean and the view from the window looking right at the mountains is very beautiful. After a long day in the slopes or just hiking in the mountains it's nice to get back to the hotel -to the bar listening to live music or just relax in the lounge area before it's time for dinner (which was included in the price). The hotel is close to the city center with more bars and restaurants.

Great value for money. Lovely rooms with friendly and helpful staff. To start the day a perfect breakfast was served and later a great comfort food dinner which was included in the rate we paid. Location in the center of town with nice views of the closter and surrounding mountains.

This hotel has all you need for a couple of days skiing, good breakfast, ski storage and near the bus to the lift. You can also buy ski pass in the reception which I think is good. Dinner was included and the food was nothing special but ok.
