“Good hotel but certainly not a 4*”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

The hotel is situated very close to mount titlis and has amazing views from all the rooms. That being the highlight, while the rooms were large and spacious, the decor was certainly not upto 4* rating. The carpet was worn out and curtains looked drab. The lifts are very tiny...it can hardly acommodate 2 people and small pieces of luggage. It is a good option if you dont plan to stay in the hotel too much. . The staff however was very friendly

“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 March 2010

We had a four day weekend break here for skiing. This hotel was outstanding. The service at all times was efficient and helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, we ate breakfast and dinner on two nights. The hotel has wonderful views of the mountains, so it's a pleasure to sit and have a drink. The rooms are a bit old-fashioned, but I rather liket that, because it's what one expects in a good Swiss hotel. The rooms were enormous, spotlessly clean and had all amenties. Water pressure was amazing. Beds very comfortable.
The health spa was outstanding: it has a beautiful salt water swimming pool, surrounded by huge glass windows, so it's a pleasure to relax in it and around it. The massage and other facilites (sauna etc) were excellent.
On the last day, our plane left Zurich (easily reached in 1.5 hours by car) at 20:30, so the reception offered (without our asking) to let us keep our rooms without extra cost till 17:00. Just another feature of this wonderful hotel which made our stay so enjoyable. We'll be back.

“not worth the price”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 March 2009

This hotel is in real need of refurbishment, the rooms, lifts, hallways and restaurant are scruffy and in disrepair e.g. cracked table lamps.

On the plus side the service was friendly, although not attentive, and the mountain views are stunning, but hard not to be when the whole town is surrounded by mountains.

My main gripe is the price. Upon checking out I discovered that the rate I was originally quoted was for single guests not couples, and I was charged an extra 150 francs plus a special weekend tariff! I could have been told upon check in therefore I consider this to be dishonest and frankly I would not have paid for the room at this price.

My advice is find a smaller 3 star (the hotel does claim to be 4 star) at a more reasonable price because this place can only disappoint at these prices.

“4* prices for 2* hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 March 2009

This hotel is rated as 4* and charged as such. This is presumably because of the adequate wellness offering, it is not because of the rooms or overall fit-out of the hotel. The room we stayed in was very outdated and had scruffy furniture and paper peeling from the wall. The most disappointing was the state of the bathroom where we had rusty brackets above the bath which had presumably had shower gel or shampoo in them at some point. There were very little in the way of complimentary products in the room only a sewing kit and body lotion. We found breakfast in the shabby breakfast room to be average, and the restaurant was okay but not anything special.
When we offered feedback to reception on the state of our room they told us that they know the hotel isn't so nice inside and the rooms are outdated but they feel that the friendliness of the staff makes up for it.
So there you have it, if you are willing to pay a premium for friendliness and not the amenities on offer then this is the place of you. Otherwise steer clear and go for something rated 3* as it can't be any worse than this place.

“Honeymoon Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2009

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon. We were not disappointed. Staff spoilt us with an upgraded room, fruit basket, champagne and our own romantic table for the first few meals.

Our room was beautiful. The view from it was incredible. The facilities at the hotel were brilliant. We used the wellness centre everyday and as the hotel was fairly quiet we had it to ourselves on many occasions. It featured a saltwater pool with a separate sauna area with various steam rooms and saunas.

The food was outstanding. It was something to look forward to every day, especially with the variety and 4 delicious courses. Compliments to the chef for every meal!

The location of the hotel was not a problem for us as we were more than happy to walk down to the town and back again. However on the occasions when we wanted transport someone was always available to take us down or pick us up.

There is so much to do in this area and we look forward to returning there again sometime in the near future.
