Our family stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in January 2012.

We had been stayed few Novotel hotels around Europe past few years, and this one somewhat below average of the rest the Novotel:
1. Our reception staff didn't voluntary to provide us the free Geneva-Card; which cost Novotel NOTHING, but any visitors staying in Geneva can use public transport free in Geneva;
2. The reception staff only give us 3 days wi-fi pass even he knew us will be in this hotel for 5 nights; and he had the weekly pass there anyway.

The location of the hotel is somewhat odd: around the hotel ALWAYS had some small group of black people there doing nothing; and some ladies were standing alone the side street for long long time during the cold winter night.

The Novotel was excellent as one would expect the area in which the hotel is located is threatening and seedy, red light district with a number of drug pushers on every concerner both day and night. I would not return

We knew when booking that it was in a fairly central area and is handy to the train, which was good for us as we came in from Zurich. The area is a little dodgy though. Rooms are normal Novotel, spacious and modern but a room not a holiday suite.
Nice enough though

At first we were given a large and confortable non-smoking room, but the smell of cigarette was unbearable. we were moved to a much smaller room, but at least it was clean.
We arrived late and were hungry, but there was no food after 11:00 pm and we did not dare to go out looking for a restaurant because as soon as the sun goes down the streets around the hotel are filled with prostitues and suspicious gangs.
During daytime the location becomes convenient, close to shopping area.
