This is an airport hotel and is fairly typical of the Holiday Inn Express brand - a good price for Geneva and a simple, straightforward place to stay.

The hotel is clean and neat, with rooms big enough to work in. It is quiet - surprisingly so for a hotel near the airport runways and next to one of the busier Geneva roads. No problems getting a very good night's sleep. Breakfast is a typical continental style buffet, with no hot food, but the choice of meat, cheese and breads is good, with coffee and juices.

Being at the airport, the location is not ideal for visiting Geneva, either on pleasure or business. However, there is a free travel pass which covers the length of your stay and provides access to all the city buses, trams and even the trains within the city limits. It is a short walk to the No 14 supertram which will whisk you to central Geneva or to CERN. To get to the many international organizations near the Place des Nations, it is easier to take the bus which stops outside the hotel, although you may need to change at the main airport stop, depending exactly where you're going.

The biggest downside of the hotel for me was the "High Speed Internet" service, which was not very "high speed" and stopped working entirely for one day - despite me paying for it! I was less than impressed with the staff response to this problem.

There is no evening dining at the hotel - but Geneva has plenty of great restaurants, so this is not a big deal. One tip I can offer is that the "L'Aviation" restaurant is a couple of hundred meters away - on the road to CERN just beyond the tram stop. This is excellent if you like steak - unpretentious with delicious sauces. Try the "Caravelle"!

We used this hotel for one night in order to catch our morning flight to Abu Dhabi. The room was small and was good for one night but for a longer stay it is too small for two people. The biggest pluspoint is the closeness to the airport - you can actually walk to the terminals in about 7 min (we used the shuttle because it was too cold to walk). The reception was very friendly and helpful. The bar is quite cozy for an airport hotel and serves a good selection of beer and also wine. Overall we can recommend this place.

Using hotel's free travel pass it is situated 20 mins by tram from CERN visitor centre and another 20 mins from Geneva town centre on opposite direction. Great for the physics lovers in the family and everyone else.

Hotel is impersonal - it is a chain after all. Rooms clean & tidy. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast looks boring but is actually rather tasty. We would go again.

Regarding the airport itself I would stand by for the worst experience possible in what is otherwise a 1st world country. Too many people through a small and badly organised airport. And WARNING: no competition means duty free shopping is TWICE what it is on the outside so dont even think about it.

We stayed here for 2 nights with 2 children and 5 large suitcases! We arrived by private transfer from the ski fields at night. As there is no restaurant (which I knew), we walked two minutes to the Movenpick casino and hotel where we had an expensive but adequate meal in the cafe/bistro. The next morning we walked two minutes in the other direction and got on the tram with our free travel passes (which are supplied by all hotels) and within 15 mins we were in the city. The next morning there was free breakfast again (continental but adequate) and a free shuttle to the airport. The room seemed cramped but only because we had the sofa bed opened for our kids and 5 suitcases to store. reception even had a range of adapters to lend us for our electrical items.

Overall, an excellent value hotel for a 1 to 2 night stay when airport transfers are required.
