The only thing this place has going for it is that it is close to the train station and waterfront. However, given that Geneva is a small city this is not exactly difficult.

The room was poorly appointed and dirty, and was very noisy despite being on the third floor. The poor insulation also resulted in a cold draft almost equivalent to having a fan on blowing around. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The breakfast consisted of cold coffee, "finished" (i.e no) eggs - barely 1 hour into a 3 hour service - stale bread and processed cheese. Avoid at all costs.

This hotel is very nice. It is in a great location and a good price for the area. The staff were all excellent and went out of their way for us during the stay. We stayed with our 4 year old daughter and she had a fantastic time. would recommend this hotel for a stay in Geneva.

We paid a bit extra for a 'superior twin room' which was lovely - it was spacious, newly refurbished and double glazed so we didn't hear any noise from the street, and had a super brand new bathroom with fantastic power shower. Reception staff were courteous, friendly and helpful, breakfast was plentiful with a good choice of hot and cold food. The location of the hotel is perfect, five minutes' walk from the station and the lake, and the price includes a free public transport pass to use on the trams, buses or boats and will get you back to the airport. The hotel is still being refurbished and when this is complete, it will merit the 'excellent' rating.

My wish to be near Gare Cornavin - both for an easy arrival and departure and for the shopping I was to do there - caused me to choose a hotel nearby. Problem is, it's not a great part of Geneva. The crowds near there like to party very late and the noise from the street is considerable. Further, the hotel itself has very thin walls - so the noise from outside combined with the noise from neighbours gave me a very unhappy time. On the plus side, the room, though very small - almost Hong Kong-small! - was well equipped, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom worked well, and there were heaps of power points - along with a fridge and a kettle and lots of nice teas. The staff at reception were without exception courteous and helpful. But on my next visit I will stay in a quieter part of town, maybe near the Opera - that would be a whole lot less dramatic for me.
