Four star rating is a joke. Hotel has not been renovated for decades. Staff is very rude. Air conditioning does not work. Service non-existant. If an umbrella is needed, you have to buy it for 15 francs. When I asked for an adapter, they didn't have one. Room was overpriced - booked it through a website which said that it was a great bargain! DON'T STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

Four stars? The hotel is old, the rooms have not been renovated for the last 40? years.
It is a mistery to me where the four stars come from. No restaurant, no bar no service at all. Bed and breakfast maybe, no more, no less.
Avoid it, the hotel is only interested in your wallet.

After being offered various much more expensive hotels through our travel agent, we were offered the grand pre for about 110 € a night, which for Geneva is cheap. I found the hotel quite charming, in an old fashioned way. The staff were friendly and helpful, it is well located, slightly out of the centre, quiet, clean, and breakfast was ok. Without asking for it, they gave me a large corner room on 6º floor with views of mountains, almost a suite. My colleague, who travels much more than me, and usually pays considerably more, was not particularly happy with the hotel, but he was given a normal, smaller room,and he didn´t like the furniture.

It seems that most hotels in Gneva are very expensive. I picked this hotel because it claims to be a 4 star hotel. But this is no 4 star hotel. It is old, worn and unpleasant. The bathroom was badly water damaged. The shower is constructed in such a way that the entire room gets flooded every time someone takes a shower.

The breakfast consited of old croissants and over cooked eggs (boiled until green inside). Not very nice.

The room next door sounded like it was occupied by a very loud prostitute.
