“Definitely not a 4-star”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

Stayed there on Business for two nights in December. While the hotel staff was friendly and welcoming, the hotel itself was not up to the standards I'd expect from a four star hotel. The rooms are tiny. I had a single room on the third floor which was actually in a building adjacent to the one where reception is located (walking up and down stairs with your luggage to get there). The room was aged, the wall paint was starting to come off & there was mould in the shower. There was no space to work in the room, although there was a tiny table, there was no way you could fit a Laptop & a Mouse. The room did have a WiFi connection which surprisingly a) worked and b) was included in the room rate, but then again, the hotel fails at simple things, like putting a bottle of complementary water in the room. I had reserved a covered parking space in advance, only to find out that it was already taken by another guest (there were only TWO spaces!), so I had to leave the car parked outside in the street.

All in all, not worth 4 stars and the price tag that goes with it.

Room Tip: Don't go for the top floor rooms where you will have limited headroom because of the roof.

“Central location”

I stayed at the Tffany in the beginning of November 2011. I had stayed there previously and now for one night only. Hotel is currently covered in scaffolding. The staff is normal/well. He was kind and welcoming, but do'nt made any attempt to take my luggage to the room. Another issue was that I have no internet access. Perhaps any problem with rooter.
For my purpose, the location is very important and Tiffanys is very well located.

“Helpful staff & Comfortable bed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

Stayed here one night only last weekend. Hotel is currently covered in scaffolding, however that didn't affect my stay whatsoever as no-one was working whilst we were there. We had a junior suite near the top floor, it consisted of a king size bedroom (with door), bathroom, and a study area which had a sofa bed that we used for our teenage daughter. The sofa bed wouldn't be very good for anyone over 50kg as the mattress was quite thin, but it was fine for our needs. The master bed was very comfortable, the only issue we had was that the room was too hot, but this is a problem you get throughout Europe in winter, however we couldn't safely leave a window open because of the scaffolding and easy access from outside. The hotel staff were very helpful, the restaurant recommendation was spot-on and the rate charged (chf380) was relatively cheap for Geneva for three adults including breakfast. If I went back to Geneva I would stay there again.

“Breakfast at Tiffany”

Geneva is a notoriously difficult city to find value for money when it comes to hotels. Perhaps this is driven by the presence of the UN and guaranteed pools of visitors. The Tiffany Hotel was a brilliant find and indeed it would be very difficult to persuade me to stay anywhere else in Geneva.

The hotel itself is located in the Old City, very convenient to both transport links and visitor attractions. The building is lovely, both outside and inside. Well-treated dark wood lends an atmosphere of comfort and sophistication. There is an accessible lift and the room itself was tremendous. Generous in size and very comfortable.

I have little to add to the other reviews here beyond the fact that I see a lot of hotels and there is a feeling one gets when walking into a place that gets it right. Tiffany Hotel gets it very right.

The staff is exceptional as well. They were very kind and welcoming, and endlessly helpful.

The only issue was the internet access. Initially, the connection seemed very slow, however once I engaged VPN software, the link was fine. Thus, I imagine there is a little bit of misconfiguration at the local router, something that they can easily fix in a few minutes.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front of the building offer lovely views of Geneva and the higher room (4th floor...

“A Character Hotel”

We stayed at the Tffany in September 2011. We had stayed there previously and have always been very satisfied with the rooms, food and staff. This occasion was no different.

The food in the restaurant is first class, but the bar service is a little slow. The bar has a similar feel to that of an old fashioned English clubThe breakfast buffet is good but not outstanding. The lifts are very old fashioned. A tray for tea and coffee in the room is available on request.
