“A good stay in Geneva”

Spent only one night there, front desk is a bit awkward as you need to go around shops to access the entrance. Staff was polite and friendly and the room clean and modern(must be sponsored by Samsung as all the tech is from that brand, too bad you cannot charge an iPhone on the dock provided). Beds are of high quality as are the linen and towels.
Hallways are a bit of a maze but public spaces are clean and well maintained, bar is cavernous but thankfully the restaurants are nicer and all with lake views.
Overall a good experience

I typically stay at the Mandarin in Geneva, but this time opted for the Kempinski and I'm never going back. The location is better, more rooms and larger rooms. There are several hotel restaurants versus the typical one in a Geneva hotel. The best part was the spa -- the Balinese massage was the best one I've ever had -- what a great treat during a busy work week. I'll definitely be back!

“Lacks gourmet restaurant. Some noise and minor organization issues.”

We stayed at the Kempinski for an extended week-end. This hotel provided us the usual service expected, with large rooms, nice bathrooms and efficient staff (including knowledgeable concierge). Location was also great. Anyhow we were disappointed not finding any options for gourmet eating on the property itself. If we except desserts, food offered (and also the dining room comfort and service) was much below what a five star hotel should give (and it was of course as expensive as usual in Switzerland). The Four Seasons offer much better options according to us.
In room, we also suffered from the noise coming from the corridor. Everytime a neighbour opened or closed its door, or even when people walked in the corridor, we could hear it as clearly as if it was in our room itself. Of course when the noise comes from obviously drunk guests talking loudly in the corridor in the middle of the night it is a nightmare.
One evening, housekeeping came for turndown service while one of us was using the bathroom. We asked for a later service. Answer: “impossible, I still have two levels to attend”. Definitively not 5 star service answer; we were left with a dirty bathroom and used towels.
Finally, the U shaped front desk is a pain when people start queuing for check-out around noon: you have to choose one side of the desk and stand in line there in front of a clerk, with the risk of waiting a lot of time as other lines may go faster. A single line with all clerks available at the end of it would be more efficient.

I stayed in Doha and Dubai Kempinski. This is a very disappointing hotel in comparision. No value for money. Needs immidiate update (bathrooms mainly) or immediate lower prices.

The View is lovely though

“One of the better large, modern hotels”

The Kempinski in Geneva is a good example of a large, modern, corporate hotel. While I am not a fan of these hotels by mature, this was a good experience. The accommodation is good quality, the public areas are OK (but a little industrialized). The big difference for me on this trip was the service, which was excellent for a hotel of this standard. There was a genuine effort by the staff to make a difference to your experience and deal with any issues you had quickly and efficiently.

One of my bugbears - in today's world, hotels need to make sure the in room WIFI works reliably. Mine was a somewhat unreliable.
