Overall, I had only a few gripes with the Kreuz Hotel, one of which is of critical importance for a hotel: the appallingly bad beds and pathetic pillows. The beds are some of the least comfortable I've experienced anywhere. In such a tiny room, the bed is also important as a place to lounge for reading or watching TV, but even for that simple function, they failed miserably. The pillows appear nice, but even bunched together they provide so little support for the head that I had the feeling my head was sloping downward. Even my 13-year-old son, who can normally sleep anywhere, could hardly sleep. The other irritants included an empty shower gel dispenser that was never refilled and the most disgusting scrambled eggs I've ever had at a hotel. Otherwise, they had several nice touches, friendly staff and an unbeatable location in the center of Bern. If I knew they had replaced their beds and pillows, I wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend the Kreuz, but ONLY if they did that.

First-- DO NOT stay in this hotel in summer. It has NO AC and many of rooms look out into air shaft or building just a few feet away, so getting fresh air or cool breeze is out. We were there in April 2012 and it was okay. Breakfast is rather basic. The rooms are simple, but clean, and bed was average. Bath - very small and room size was okay. At more than $200 a night for two I would not consider it a value; however, Switzerland is very expensive. Location is good to see this beautiful city.

Stayed for 1 night. Got a simple room but had a good feel to it. Breakfast was basic- nothing to write home about. Internet is expensive but very fast. Excellent location easy to get by and allows for nice walks and good access to nightlife. I was positively surprised considering the Tripadvisor ranking.

Good standard hotel in central Bern. I guess 7 minutes walk to train station. Close to all attractions. Nice bathroom, reasonable bedroom. TV did not work, we were not fussed. Free internet on 2 PCs - sometimes a queue, but ok for a quick browsing session. HAD A LAUNDRY. Very cheap, access to laundry room, very clean, was a real bonus to wash all our dirty washing in a nice environment. Would stay here again. Breakfast plentiful.
