This isn't a luxury hotel, but the accomodations were satisfactory. It's greatest stregnth is the location, two blocks from the train station, in the historic-tourist district. Most of what you want to see in Bern is within walking distance, and the main tram routes are nearby for anything else.
The room (I had a single) was small but well organized. This being Switzerland, of course it was clean. There was plenty of light, all controlled by a master switch. On the downside the bed was lumpy. There was no alarm clock, the only clock to tell time was part of the TV. There was an in-room safe, usually a plus, but there were no instructions of how to use it!! And I did hear a certain amount of noise from the hallway and the plumbing. It wasn't too bad, but could have been better.
The shower had good water pressure, good temperature control, and the controls were easy to figure out - some places are quite complex. But it was quite a small shower. There were also few towels: a washcloth, hand towel, and one full size towel. Yes it was a single, but a few more would still be useful.
I normally don't have much interaction with the staff, but when I did they handled everything well, and spoke excellent english.
Overall I would stay here again. The hotel itself was good enough, and the location was excellent for a reasonable price. ("Reasonable relative to Switzerland, which is an expensive place.)
