Stayed at the Hotel for 3 nights, the rooms were big & sterile, the bath towels old & thin. There was no restaurant for evening meals. The coffee machine kept breaking down in the breakfast room however the breakfast room did look out over the lovely garden. I had 2 things missing from the room- one was an mp3 player. I rang the hotel 10 days after I left & the man on the desk said they werent in lost property & was not very helpful at all. However, after 3 months I received an email to say my things had been found!!!!! They have now been returned to me in Australia. I looked at the picture of the hotel on tripadvisor & could not wait to get there as its appearance was so inviting I just wish that the hotel was more inviting & friendly from the inside.

The hotel is a professionally managed location owned by a church institution. It offers simple but comfortable rooms in the middle of Basel and a very nice breakfast in the restaurant. It is close to tram stations and a 10 min footwalk brings you to the old town of Basel. I like the atmosphere and I always come back when I am in Basel. The reason is the peaceful atmosphere and the friendliness of the guests (!). I love it because it is not the usual sterile hotel experience this hotel offers.

As it was a business trip I found the hotel rather nice! The was very clean and good-furnished. The breakfast was also good. One thing I didn't like as lack of room service and restaurant. Anyway the location is good and service too. I had no problems with them.

We stayed for one night and were glad it was not longer. The hotel shares a building with some other institutions and we felt as though we were in a college dorm ( a very clean one, but soulless). The room was large, and decorated in blacks, grey and steel, with functional lighting. Breakfast, although good in terms of range of food and a great coffee machine, was served in a large dining room that also felt like a college cafeteria. The experience could have been improved had the staff been more cordial but they were brusque to the point of being rude. The location was good, just a few minutes walk from the old town and we also used our free bus pass to escape from a downpour. Easy parking (extra fee). But overall, we were glad to be on our way after one night there.
