Basel is a very expensive city so this was a decent option. Stayed for two nights in a single room. Reception is very small but no queue when I checked in. The room had a decent TV and a writing desk but was quite small. Bathroom and bed were fine and breakfast was a decent standard though reflected that it's not a huge hotel i.e. not lavish. All the front facing rooms have a main street outside the window with a tram route. Not too bad although people parking (reversing several times to get in a space) was an occasional nuisance. The hotel is perfect for conventions as it is directly oppsite the commercial centre. It is no more than 10 minutes' walk from the old town and city centre, passing by plenty of bars and restaurants and shops as you go, then over the main bridge into the old town.
