While on business in Basel, I usually stay at the Victoria. However, they were booked so decided to try this one as an alternative. It is just as convenient (the Victoria is right next door). Lobby is smaller, but staff was very friendly. It has its own little bar right in the lobby that, as I recall, never closed.
Prices were comparable to Victoria, over CHF300 per night - but tough to find a heck of a lot cheaper in Basel itself.
The rooms offered internet and standard offerings (instant coffee, tea, etc.). When I stayed, there were no in room irons nor an ironing area. But does have a trouser press. Bathroom was clean.
Guests, like at all Basel hotels, receive a mobility pass that allows free transport on all trams and on the bus back to the airport. You can't get closer to SBB or the main tram stop (except maybe Victoria next door). Overall a very good hotel, convenient and has a sense of nostalgia about it. I would certainly consider staying tehre again.
