Basel is a beautiful historic city in Switzerland with a very good public transport network. A free transport ticket is given to each person, so you can go anywhere by tram or bus within the city. Guesthouse Basel is very close to the centre and it's easy to walk or take a tram. It is ideal if you have a family or group up to 5 people - there is one double bed. The accommodation is really a self contained flat and it feels like you're at home, not a hotel. There are 2 flats available. The owners live upstairs with their small children and they are friendly and helpful. There is a supermarket just around the corner and other places to buy your morning bread. On street parking is available, but there are restrictions if you're non-resident. Otherwise, there is a short bus trip from the airport. If you come by bike, you probably need to check with owners about where to store/park. Be aware that the bathroom for the ground floor flat is in the basement and toilet is across the corridor so not within flat - both for use by you only. This is an environmentally-aware place so towels/sheets NOT changed everyday which is great. Pay a deposit and rest by cash - minimum 2 day night stay. Basel has a lot of history and a great base to stay and take short-medium day excursions - great rock climbing sites around.
