The Locanda is for those that want to slow down and to savor their lives. It is perched on the Umbrian Hills, with incomparably beautiful views in all directions. The owners and staff take such care of their guests that you feel that you have been welcomed into their family. Given the Locanda's location, you either want to have a large afternoon meal in one of the surrounding hill towns or have dinner at the Locanda itself. Jimmy the Chef runs the kitchen with flair and panache, providing excellent meals. The Inn, its dining room, and the sauna rooms are simply but tastefully decorated. Sue B.

This villa lived up to the recommendation by friends. It is out of the way but the drive in is very scenic for the passengers. Drivers are recommended not to take their eyes off the road as it is a very twisting, narrow mountain road. However the road is well marked and at the end of it is your little bit of paradise. The land drops away on three sides from the beautiful stone buildings to offer up great views.
We had the two room unit with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and a sitting area. Our only complaint was that the lighting was dim in the bathroom and was poor in the sitting room which was not conducive to reading. This minor inconvenience was overshadowed by going to the self-administered bar, getting a bottle of Italian wine and wine glasses and retiring to the edge of the infinity pool and reading our books there.
We highly recommend paying the extra euros (20 PP in our case) to have dinner at the villa in their glass enclosed dining room. Not only do you not have to drive back down the road at night to find a restaurant but you will be rewarded with a very delicious meal. Note: although chef Jimmy offers up great meals, they are not always traditional Italian meals. There was also a substantial breakfast in the morning.
The hosts, Paola and Erich, were very helpful and friendly.
The quiet serenity of this villa makes for a great retreat for adults.

what an amazingly special place and our third time back. So many return visitors, because the lovely owners get it just right, peaceful yet welcoming to children, amazing food, breathtaking views, simple but wonderful rooms.

there is nothing flash about this place, it is more of a homestay than a hotel, but with all the advantages of hotel (clean room every day and lovely food). it is in a breathtaking spot, out on a ridge surrounded by incredible hills. the infinity pools has one of the most fabulous views i've ever seen.

this place is so gorgeous, so relaxing, so simple that it makes you want to keep it a secret.

We love this place, we have been twice now and each time we were made so welcome, were able to relax in such lovely surroundings, and just be ourselves while eating beautifully prepared food, and sitting in the garden that is surrounded with lavender. It is an oasis of green in the middle of the Italian summer. The pool is lovely overlooking the mountains. There is something very special abut the way the Locanda is run, go and you won't be disappointed.
