This is the best country hotel that I have ever been in. Hosts, accommodation, food, views, pool, sauna and the personal service are all just magnificent. I stayed here with my husband and our son and daughter-in-law and we just loved it. This place is simply lovely in every sense of the word. It is set on a hill overlooking beautiful rolling hills and farms. The rooms are rustic, yet beautifully finished and offer all the amenities you could want. The breakfast is wholesome and delicious as are the dinners. Also the staff are so warm and friendly, which really makes the experience even more enjoyable.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights at the end of June - we wished it could have been for longer but we were on a short tour. The hotel is peacefully located in beautiful Umbrian hills, miles from anywhere. The rooms are comfortable, the food is excellent - as others have said, Jimmie the chef is the star of the show and he's a very good reason to go for the half board option - and the pool is excellent. I was also very impressed by the Paula's approach - she was helpful but not intrusive and, most impressive, she priced the wine in the honesty bar very reasonably which she didn't have to do given that we were miles from the nearest bar/wine shop. A lovely stay in a lovely part of the country.

This is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. The setting is wonderful - views, deep woods all around, and many lovely towns to visit, like Perugia and Gubbio but also smaller places like Spello, Foligno... and hidden abbeys.
The owners, Paola and Irish, are most friendly, available for any advice and help, and generally making guests feel relaxed and at home, to a rare degree.
The rooms are extremely comfortable and spotless, with great character - the whole locanda is as comfortable as one could wish for, with Asian style furniture blending easily with the old stone and tiles.
The pool is particularly enjoyable, being chlorine free, and the new spa - jacuzzi, steam room and mist shower - add an extra touch of luxury.
The food is also excellent - great home baked bread (a rarity we have found in Italy) wonderful garden produce, and the irrepressible Jimmy in the kitchen.
This is the most peaceful and enchanting place we have enjoyed amongst our many travels, most highly recommended.
