“Living like a local”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2010

If you love Assisi and would love to pretend that you live here and just fit in like a local than this place is for you. We heard about it from some friends and could not believe how convenient, gracious, comfortable a place it is. We had the San Rufino apartment which has 3 bedrooms (two doubles and one with two twins and a pullout) It's on the 3rd floor which can be a bit daunting the first day. You soon learn to deal with steps when you are in Assisi!!! The owner, Anna Maria is so welcoming and the facility so well appointed. The location, just off from the Cathedral of San Rufino is steps from the main piazza of Assisi and close to the local butcher shop, cheese shops, deli and of course wine shops. A big bonus is the outside large garden where you can relax, have a drink or even dinner.

“Terrific place to stay in Assisi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2009

Recently returned from 8 nights at the spacious, very well-equipped Santa Rosa apartment at Palazzo Minciotti in Assisi. The Palazzo is superbly located near the top of the town, near San Rufino, and just above the Piazza Commune, within easy walking distance of all of Assisi's major sights and many good restaurants and cafes. Assisi is both a multi-day destination in itself and a great base for exploring the other fascinating hill towns of Northern Umbria, including Perugia, Gubbio, and Spello. Among the Palazzo Minciotti's other charms: there is free parking available a short walk away on the road to La Rocca, a fabulous pizza/panini stand just across the street (don't miss the torta al testo), a cafe with free internet use for customers right next door, and access to a lovely terraced garden and [very small] swimming pool. Anna Maria Minciotti is a lovely, helpful host -- she has several apartments available for short rentals and lives with her family in the Palazzo. You can book directly with Anna Maria, but we found the Palazzo through Anne Robichaud, a terrific English-speaking tour guide with deep knowledge of the art and history of the area -- be sure to check out her website, annesitaly.com, when planning your trip.

“We felt like we were home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2009

We were a group of six people and stayed in the Sofia Apartment. What a very pretty place this was. Sofia, Anna Maria and Edouardo were very gracious hosts. You must read about the history of the building, it is so interesting.
There are two gardens with spectacular flowers all cultivated by Anna Maria. Turtles walk about amongst the undergrowth, fascinating. The scenery is breath taking from the upper level garden. The wisterior arbor was ablaze with blooms, and roses, roses, roses, some rare. Our accomodations were quite nice, we really lacked for anything.
Shopping for groceries at the small stores was a treat and we learned our way around the town quite quickly. The people were very nice to us and everybody made us feel welcome.

“Wonderful hospitality and beautiful view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2009

We really enjoyed our month long visit in Assisi and we absolutely loved the San Rufino apartment! My favorite part was the lovely view of Assisi. There were six of us traveling together, my husband, my mom, and our three kids (ages 10-7). The apartment had plenty of room for all of us and the kids especially enjoyed playing in the pool and the garden. Anna Maria helped us carry our luggage up to the apartment and started our stay off with a bottle of wine, chocolates, and a package of pasta for us to try. My husband appreciated the wireless internet access in the apartment. We would love to stay there again!
