“luxuryless living”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2011

VERY disappointed in the amenities of this resort. Was poorly stocked with basic supplies. When we ran out of toilet paper and went to request more we were told to wait a couple of hours until the lady was coming to restock. After citing our need for toilet paper now she reluctantly went to get some from her magic TP vault! The furnishing were scant and VERY uncomfortable. I loved that we were so close to Assisi, but you definitely need a car to get around. They advertise they have a shuttle, but after our toilet paper experience we certainly didn't trust that they would pick us up! We did have a lovely view from our living room of the hills and farm houses. That we loved!

“SO DISAPPOINTED......”

The postcode on the website does not take you to the resort, it takes you about 6 miles away, to get to the resort put these co-ordinates into google or into your sat nav
N43 degrees 05.976'
E12 degrees 39.865'

Carpediem Assisi Living Club must have not been refurbished for at least 10 years, the furniture and fittings are all worn and very tired looking,
Facts they do not tell you - The swimming pool closes the third week in September
The heating will not come on until the 15 October whatever the weather
Our apartment had no balcony to look out over the stunning views - we looked out onto a concrete wall!
The resort does not have a bar or restaurant, however there is a restaurant a 5 minute walk down the road which was very good.
The childrens play area is a hazard and is in serious need of refurbishment
There is a teapot in the apartment but you do not get a kettle
The hairdryer is available from reception on request
There is no sound-proofing, our neighbours in the apartment above us were dragging chairs across the floor about at 4am for about an hour each day - heaven knows what they were doing!

The nearest main supermarket which we found down town which stocks most everything (although personally would not cook a meal in the apartment) - about a10 minute drive from the resort
Co-ordinates are
N43 degrees 03.308'
E12 degrees 33.74'

This resort received a distincton from RCI in 2001 (there is a plaque on the wall in reception) we feel that the resort has not had any maintenance or any inspection from RCI since that date!

The resort is not child friendly, there is no enertainment to talk of, however the location is excellent for exploring this part of Italy.

“the resort is nothing to write home about, but location is great!”

we stayed at carpediem 2 summers in a row. first year we came we didn't have a car and when we got there we found out it's quite remote from Assisi (15 min. drive - and the road is a bit serpentine). there's a shuttle twice a day - unfortunately the last one back from Assisi is as early as 20:00 which is a shame cause it's great fun in Assisi in the evenings: great restaurants, everyone's out on passagiatta and many times there are free concerts in the main square.
you can use taxis to Assisi and then get around Umbria by train or bus from there.
the staff was very helpful and we had no trouble renting a car through them but for the first two days we managed without it. it is highly recomended to use this resort if you want to tour Umbria - an absolutely beautiful region! every night we went to a different little village for delightful local festivities.
the apartement we stayed in was clean and comfortable but very poorly decorated which we didn't mind. rooms are large, kitchen is very well equiped, and terrace is lovely with a realy amazing view!
the resort is nice and quiet. there's no point going there if you're looking to stay in - the pool costs extra and the gym/play room is an absolute joke.
there are two lovely restaurants within walking distance and one of them has a little grocery store. at reception you can buy pasta, tomato sauce, milk, coffe, sugar, tea, mineral water, salt, olive oil and cookies at very reasonable prices.
the girls at reception are very helpful - watch out for the smelly guy that showed us to our room :)

“A 2 star resort if you are being generous”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 April 2010

I didn't expect luxury. However, this was bare bones. A bed in the middle of a bedroom with two teeny tables beside it. A pull out couch with rips in the fabric, cracks in almost ALL of the walls, and the phone didn't work. However it was clean enough and would have dealt with it were it not for the fact that we went to have showers and we didn't even have hot water. Talked to management who said they have one boiler and pretty much was as good as it was going to get. Then came to try and fix the hot water and the boiler sounded like an overhead plane after that. Anything other than sitting in your room costs extra, and yes you have to drive to Assissi.

Location is beautiful but dont expect anything other than a place to crash really, and hope you get a shower.

Nice place that worked for my wife,20 year old daughter and I.Location is fabulous in the mountains just outside of Assisi. We drove to the resort. If you drive ...you will never find this place unless you print this.....when you are in Assisi...follow the signs to Guardo Tandino...if you do not you will find Cleveland Ohio before you will find the resort...do not google it...it is worhtless...now you are in Assisi going to G.T...calculate 5 to 7 miles out of town towards G.T....you will pass 2 restaurants...they will be across from one another ..then a mile or 2 down the road on your left is Assiss Living Club...the sign is broke..so you will not see a sign to mark it..which is ridiculous but true...but you will enjoy this place..it is not the ritz..but Oh what a beauty in Umbria...go to Sienna and Cortona is on the way...visit Tuscany..you will love it..the drive in Assisi is Fab.We had a great time and the staff will suggest where to eat for fair value and good food.great super market by train station..near mcdonalds for good grocery...just continue and follow railroad tracks east to store.
