Rented Belcaro cottage in May. Quiet, peaceful location outside Siena overlooking a vineyard. Do bring GPS since the directions to get there are confusing at best. A few things disappointed us with the rental. First, we received a very cursory walk-through of the cottage from the person who met us. No explanation of any of the appliances, which led to interesting times trying to decipher the washing machine hieroglyphs. Some written instructions would have been helpful. Second, there are absolutely no supplies provided -- no paper towels, salt, dish soap or any of the basic items one would expect. Half a roll of toilet paper was the extent of it. We rented two other apartments during this trip to Italy and did not have the same issue. Finally -- centipedes! Maybe it was the unusually rainy spring or that the back wall of the cottage is under a hill. In any case, they were huge and many. On the plus side, the pool is lovely and it is a great setting.
