“Wish we could have stayed longer”

This was one the best places we stayed when we were traveling in Italy. Our apartment was spotless and well equipped with everything you would need including cooking. The staff was super friendly, even though there was a language barrier, they were willing to try to understand what you are saying and even taught us some Italian words while we taught them some English. The views were amazing and the place is in a great proximity to view other towns in Tuscany.

The one downside is there aren't screens on the windows, so even on cool nights we couldn't keep the windows open.

“A good base for Siena - preferably if you have a car”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2009

We stayed in their comfortable and spacious 2 bedroom apartment during the Palio Festival for 2 nights. I really do think it was the most reasonably priced option I could find for the 4 of us during this more expensive period. They were also also happy for a 2 night booking when others required 3 or 4 nights. I enjoyed staying away from the crowds when I needed a break. The owner is a little shy but she was always helpful. There is a communal washing machine on the property. We didn't use the apartment kitchen, except for breakfast, so cannot really comment on it. Siena is extremely elegant - it actually takes your breath away when you see Il Campo for the first time. And to be there during Palio - was unbelievable. We spent a lovely few hours swimming at Piscina Luxor which is a few km's away.

“Recommending with reservations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2009

If you want to explore Tuscany this Agriturismo B&B is an excellent base. Owners do not speak English, but try very hard to be helpful. You cannot really walk to town, first because there are no sidewalks and Italian drivers drive too fast. And second, it is really 5 kilometers (not 3 km as the internet site says, which is technically Siena city limits but there's nothing there). During the week there are buses every half hour to Siena, but if there's a strike, which happens, then you're stuck. On Sundays the bus service is minimal. The rooms have floor tiles with no rugs like Italian homes. If you are lucky, that won't matter. If you're not, you might get a guest staying above you who invites his whole family from town to have a "festa" until 1 am. Generally, it's very quiet and beautiful. Service is spotty, but if you ask for something (clean towels, toilet paper , etc.) you'll get it right away. Washer & dryer are available at cost. They have internet connection, but it is not quite what North Americans are used to (one wireless stick to be shared among 8 guests, without a check-in check-out sheet with just the owners shuttling among the guests with stick in hand).
