“Perfect location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

This is the perfect place to stay for exploring in Tuscany. Our family (my husband and I and our 2 teenagers) stayed for 7 nights. It is a collection of ensuite rooms in a big old farmhouse and is handy for driving to Pisa, Florence, San Gimignano, Arezzo, etc. and is about 10 minutes drive to Siena. We had use of a kitchen to store supermarket purchases and make lunches. The outside areas are lovely, particularly at night when you can sit outside and have a drink and relax. The pool is wonderful after a hard day’s sightseeing. Everything is clean and well maintained. Roberto is so helpful (he knows everything about the local area, including buses, trains, parking, etc.) and his family are a delight. Breakfast is continental and more than enough.

“What a gem -- the perfect small hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2011

We stayed here for a week while exploring Siena and Tuscany. The location is perfect -- easy access for car exploration everywhere and conveniently located to a bus to Siena on the days we wanted to stay around. The site itself is very beautiful -- many days we would have a restaurant lunch and just picnic for dinner on very good offerings from the grocery store less than 5 minutes away. While not luxurious, the rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The host, Roberto, is a gem! He is a fountain of information about the area and helped us plan many of our daily trips. I recommend the Casale Virgili highly -- we can't wait to go back!!

“Best place in Tuscany”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2010

Myself and 3 friends stayed here during August and would recommend the place to anyone, it was fab!

I had made the booking months before and had to make frequent changes due to people dropping out or people joining us but Roberto the manager was always very nice about it and was very friendly and helpful over email.

When we finally arrived we were stoked to see that the place was better in real life than in the photos which we thought were great anyway. The rooms were nice, the scenery great, the swimming pool with views amazing but have to say it was the staff that made our trip. Roberto and the team were outstanding, they booked wine tours, bus tickets, brought us countless bottle of wines to our gazebo area, did our washing, organised our travel. You name it, they did it!

Would definitely recommend this place to anyone, it was so good that apart from our wine tour we never really left the villa, it was too hard to leave the swimming pool and gazebo area. Forget staying in Siena, stay at Casale Virgili!

“Excellent location, room and hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2010

I stayed here with my girlfriend for 3 nights in September and I don't think I have a bad word to say about the place. It's located just outside of Siena but as we had a car this was no problem. When we wanted to visit Siena, Roberto directed us to a convenient free parking area. The pool area is lovely with views out onto the hills and we were able to enjoy a take-away pizza and wine outside our room one evening! If I return to Siena I will definitely try to stay here again.

“Scenic location. Outside Siena”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

This is a relaxing location with a swimming pool over looking rolling hills (although a highway is very close to those hills).

If you are looking for peace and quiet, then this place will suit you. It is OUTSIDE of Siena so you will definitely need a car to get back and forth. However, it's only about a ten minute drive to the center.

The breakfast was fine. The rooms are also fine. There was internet available for free in the rooms.

After touring around Siena during the day, we went to the market, bought some cheese, prosciutto, and a bottle of prosecco then enjoyed it by the poolside as the sun set.
