This hotel is good if you have a car. If you don't, the best thing about this hotel are the day trips offered. Hotel is a good value because the rooms are clean, simple and the staff is nice but the location is TERRIBLE if you like hanging out late. Its at least a 30-45 minute walk from the historical sites [aka a 10-15 euro cab fare one way] and the buses stop running at 9 PM. Its not walking distance to/from the train station either

The hotel was ok but i had booked and paid for a double room and got a single on the ground (first floor), it was clean but qutie cramped, the rooms on the first floor (second floor) were slightly better. Bus or taxi are the best way to get into Siena it would take a good half an hour to walk, and there are plenty of buses that go past the hotel.

  • Liked — it had a bed and a decent coffee machine
  • Disliked — Small room

If you get a room on the second floor, the hotel is fine (the first floor rooms are terrible). Its a long walk down a busy street to the city walls, so plan on the bus.

After reading the reviews of this hotel you either stayed some place with the same name or you need to get a grip. The hotel is small, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Yes, the hotel is a little way out of Siena, but very cloose to the train station. We took the public bus, waited about 10 minutes and it took about 5-10 minutes to get into Siena. Riding local transportation is a cultural experience. Our room was clean, reasonably sized, bathroom was obviously an add-on, very small and about 20 degrees colder than the room! We found a nice little deli and owner was very friendly. She only had a few words of English, but we all managed. There is a locked car park behind the hotel. We were well situated for our day trip to San Gimiginano and Montereggioni. I would stay there again.

“Fabulous Palio package, fun ,fun ,fun!!!!!”

Went to Siena this summer and booked the palio package this cozy little hotel had to offer. We saw it all and then some. Great guides were furnished throughout the the four days and the dinners before and after the Palio were great fun. The seats for the Palio were on the famous and dangerous curve of San Martino. What a view! If you do this, be prepared to withstand the crowds and the heat. This trip is not for the faint of heart. The days of the Palio are wild. It was the experience of a lifetime.
Everyone at the hotel was extremely pleasant and went out of their way to satisfy their guests. The rooms were small but cozy and pleasantly furnished. The breakfast provided each day was downstairs in a little cantina. Once again, very cozy, service was friendly with lots of choices to please anyone. I wouldn't hesitate to return to Villa Piccola Siena.
