It was my fourth time at The Athena in Siena.
I came for 'Xmas Holiday to Italy and I spent few days in this hotel.
it's so easy to reach Siena by car and it's so comfortable to park it at the hotel. You will not need your car anymore untile you leave. The Athena is in the historical centre (Contrada della Lupa), just few step far from Piazza del Campo.
The room was just renovated: soundproofed, great bathroom, very large room, king size bed with a lot of pillows, large tv screen and a nice view on the hills. It was very cold in those days outside but the hot air conditioned system in the room worked perfectly!
Buffet breakfast was huge and it was the perfect start for our visit.
The icing on the cake is the manager and all the staff: Serena and her staff was very kind and helpfull, always prompt to answer to my (many) questions and ready to satisfy all my requests.
Thank you again for making our stay a perfect one and see you next summer for the Palio!

Stayed in Athena hotel during november 2011 while visiting toscany erea and it was just a perfect chois.

The room was very good and so was breakfast.

We where traveling with a car, so the free parking with easy access was perfect for us.

The hotel stuff is friendly and very well come.

We stayed here in December 2011 on vacation from the US and had only planned to stay 2 nights, however the staff and room were so nice we stayed 3. Everything about this hotel is first rate. Plenty of free parking inside a beautiful walled city is rare. Our room, which was nicely decorated and very clean, had a great view of the surrounding countryside. Recommend going for the view. The free breakfast was great, fresh made fruit pastries and other breakfast fare, juices and coffee. The location made it easy to walk to the historic attractions through the beautiful city of Siena and since we had a car, there is easy access to the freeways and wine country nearby via the Porto S. Marco city gate. We are already planning to return.
