“Relatively cheap hotel with good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We booked this hotel because of many good comments from tripsadvisor. We were very disappointed as we booked a twin room and a single room in this hotel for one night after travelling from Florence in January 2012. The hotel receptionist (bareheaded man) in day time seemed to be not so helpful. We were assigned a single room and a double room in a different floor. When we requested him to arrange for our room in the same floor, he is unwilling to arrange for us even there are many spare rooms in this hotel. There is only one lift for disable person and cleaning workers but not for guests use. We asked if we can use the life as we are having heavy luggages and difficult to put them upstairs. The bareheaded man receptionist seemed to be unhappy and replied us: " You really want to use the lift?" I replied him: " YES". Eventually, he allowed us to use the lift but showed his annoying face. I would be objectively appreciated the receptionist (the fat man) in the night time is kind enough as he recommended us to a delicious restaurant which is named “ZEST” at via St. Antonio. The location is very good just 5 mins walk from the bus station and 10 mins to El Campo and Duomo. Hotel provides free wifi in the room.

The room is actually spacious, but my bed in a double room has fleas so I can't sleep and have to share with my friend in one bed in the mid-night. The breakfast is very simple, there is a coffee machine you may press a button for choice of coffee or cappuccino or else. The bread is pre-packed. You may have yogurt. No fresh fruit is provided. In terms of the price, it seems a reasonable hotel, only 50euro for a double and 40 euro for a single room (including breakfast). You get what you pay but for me, I cannot accept there are fleas in my bed.

“Very cute, quiet hotel in the heart of Siena, with a great price/quality relationship .”

I stayed twice in this hotel. It's my favourite hotel in Siena because it is cheap (compared to the rest) and has a great price/quality relationship. It is located in the very center, five minutes walking to Piazza del Campo. It is very quiet at night, and it is also extremely clean. It was recently renovated so it looks very smart. The wifi didn't work very well, but that was not a problem for me. I didn't have breakfast there, but I would suggest everybody who goes to Siena not to have breakfast at their hotel: you should definitely go have breakfast at ''historical'' bar Nannini (street: Banchi di Sopra, which is the central street with all the shops) and have a typical, hand-made cornetto with cappuccino!

Room Tip: I had the same room twice. I think it was number 11, with a great view on the medieval palace which...

“great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

We visited Siena in Oct 2011. We just basically walked off the street, asked if they had a room, looked at it - stayed for 2 nights. The room was quite small, but that didn't really matter for a few nights - not as if we needed to unpack everything! It was clean, ample number of towels, blankets etc. A bit dark as it had only one small window in the very high roof, but we didn't stay in the room very much. Ensuite bathroom was clean and well equipped. Shower was good. Location of this place was great - in the historic centre. Receptionists were friendly and knowledgeable. They helpfully printed out bus times to Florence and instructed us where to buy tickets etc. Breakfast was ok.

“Clean, safe. Very poor breakfast and awful wifi.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

We stayed one night. The host was very kind and helpful. He recommended us to a restaurant that was the best meal we had in Italy. The rooms were average size probably quite large by europe's standards. The Wi Fi did not work in rooms which was a hassle for me since were were trying to line up wine tastings and get driving directions for the rest of our trip. The breakfast was pre packaged pastries, yogurt, and an auto coffee machine that made coffee from dried powdered coffee. YUCK!
Good directions and easy to find. Great location just minutes from anything in Sienna.

“Actually, it was very quiet.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

After reading the other reviews, I requested a quiet room, and it was practically silent. (We were travelling in mid-October) though I imagine it wouldn't have been if it was packed with students or something. But it wasn't. Everyone in the breakfast room was about middle-aged.

Decent value for the location. (although it's rather expensive to stay in Siena, compared with other, lovelier Tuscan destinations) And the charming night desk clerk bought my mother a cup of coffee when all she had was a 50 euro note.
