“Excellent”

Isn't the most luxurious but the cleanliness, staff, and location make it well worth the money. The family who operates the hotel were extremely helpful and accommodating. Really enjoyed our stay there for two days. The breakfast and view from the terrace is worth the price. It is well located within walking distance to everything. I would stay here again and rate it a solidly 4:5.

“Host Made It”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

Room was average however had great views over Chiesa de San Domenico, clean & tidy with small but adequate bathroom. Centrally located, very close to the Piazza where the bus stops (took the train, then the quick bus trip). Terrace where breakfast was had beautiful views to the Duomo & down the valley to the vista that is Tuscany.

The host made the place, she was very very helpful & lovely (nicest person in our 2 weeks in Italy).

Overall good for a couple of nights, would definitely go back there. Plus place is very small with limited number of rooms which is nice.

Room Tip: We went for room with bathroom with the views, well worth it.

“Great Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

Loved it here. Owners so friendly and helpful. Good location. Will return soon. If traveling by bus or train in this area, come in by bus as it is about 1/2 mile to the hotel Train station quite a ways out. Many a hill to go up if you arrive by train

“What I imagined a European hotel would be like”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

Some other reviewers called Albergo Bernini 'charming,' and I think that's a great way to describe it. Our room was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room shared three total bathrooms with all other rooms on the floor -- brought me back to my college dorm, caddying my bathroom supplies across the hall! But there was never too much traffic to make sharing a bathroom a problem. We had breakfast under a great view of the Duomo. The only drawback for us was the walls are relatively thin -- we could hear the couples on either side of our room snoring in stereo.

“It reminded me of my first trip to Europe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

This kind of hotel exists only in Europe and it was a real blast to the past for me. So many hotels nowadays are very similar no matter where you go. When we arrived at Albergo Bernini, I felt a wave of nostalgia. I stayed in many places like this on my trips back in the 70s when I had zero budget. It was like you were staying in someone's home. It had a wonderful view of Siena from the breakfast terrace and great tiled floors throughout. The old mismatched furniture was charming. The room had an old skeleton key. It was clean and quiet and the staff was friendly and helpful. Decent breakfast. Not expensive. True, the bed could have been more comfortable, but we only stayed her one night, so we endured. I would definitely stay here again. I don't mind roughing it a bit.
