“Hotel Chiusarelli-well done staff!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

As you look through the reviews you will see that location is the best thing about this hotel, but I would like to put in a word for the staff. For me it is the people who make the difference in a trip and although this is not a family owned and operated, and all that goes with that, the staff was wonderful!! Not intrusive or pushy, but every time I asked for help, they went way above and beyond. From the cleaning lady to the front desk, everyone greeted us and helped us when ever they could. From recommendations for places to eat, to helping my daughter figure out the quickest way to get the passport I left, to me, in Rome.
Thanks everyone! Great stay, nice people, wonderful place.
Go to the thermal hot springs that are in the streams, best experience in many ways!

“Good location, good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Location is great. Hotel is rather far from railway station, but there is bus stop just in front of it, so that is not a big problem. And interurban bus station is very close to hotel too, it takes a couple minutes to get there, so if you’re planning to visit Rome or Florence before/after Siena this location is perfect. And you can walk to main sights in 5-10 minutes.
Breakfast was good. Well, it’s still Italian and there are more pastries than meat, but at least there WERE some meat, cheese, eggs and good choice of fruits and pastries.
Room was neither big nor tiny, just like in most hotels in Italy I’ve been and it was clean.
Personnel was polite and answered to all our question but I can’t say they were very friendly.
Anyway when I’ll go to Siena next time it’s very likely I’ll stay at this hotel.

“An excellent choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We chose Chiusarelli hotel because of its close proximity of old town and good value. The hotel staffs are very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast choices are excellent. A close by supermarket, Conrad, is only about 5 mins walk away. Bus station is also only a few minutes walk away. If we're going to visit Siena again, we will return to Chiusarelli without hesitation at all.

“Great location, walking distance to all the top attractions, free parking - good value in the offseason.”

Stayed here with my wife for 2 days on the way from Rome to Florence. We used the place as the base to explore the nearby hilltowns of San Gimignano and Volterra. The hotel has only 6 parking spots, but the free parking next to the fortress was a 5 minute walk. Drop your bags off, park and you can be on Piazza del Campo in 10-15 minutes. We had a room on the second floor - clean, basic amenities included. I was looking for a place that was close to all the sights, and the hotel was great for the price - about $66 per night. Ate at a nice restaurant well reviewed on Tripadvisor - Zest - 2 minutes from the hotel. The hotel's own restaurant was closed for the season (as were many places reviewed here - most reopen in February).

Overall, the hotel met my expectations. Didn't expect much for the price, but was not disappointed. Now, for some negatives. The hotel is 200 feet from a church - the bells go off at 7 am (did not bother me and my wife slept through them). No free WiFi or breakfast (but two lattes and croissants will set you back less than 5 euros at a variety of coffee shops nearby). Internet cost 2€ per hour per device. If you are looking for good value, this is a good place to stay in Siena. There may be other better ones for the price in season, but we found many hotels were closed for the winter. Would certainly stay here again.
