Extremely quiet location on top of a mountain in a forest therefore a car is essential.
The villa ( Il Frantoio) was all it needed to be and was extremely clean and well presented. The countryside around us was bueatiful and very scenic with the small towns with restaurants and bars of San Gusme, Giaole and Radda all within a 15 min drive down the mountain.
Would highly reccomend this villa and location to any first time visitor to Tuscany!.

Montifienali is located in the heart of Tuscany with a beautiful surrounding. It's a little bit in the nowhere which means that you can't just take a walk to buy an ice-cream or so but on the other hand - you get a very calm and relaxed holiday with possibility to just be with your family!

The house was clean, fresh and very well taken care of. We had a very pleasant stay there and would absolutely go back!

In many ways Montefienali is a dream or fairytale, a portrait gallery of heartbreaking beauty. It mainly lingers in the memory as a paean to the power of beauty, it is also a meditation on life, tout court. The world can turn against beauty, just as it can turn against intelligence or spiritual conviction or noble ideals but there, it lacks that possibility.
This is Tuscany and you will live well there, for Tuscany inhabitants know how to live well.
Cooking, quality shopping experience, sunshine, swimming, sleeping like a baby and peace. And maybe you will meet Giuliano, the black cat.
p.s: It is a hassle free staying from day 1 till the end, a good location for sightseeing all around, and with To Tuscany very easy and secure booking.

montefienali was lovely ,a reclaimed Italian mountain hamlet.the accommodation was comfortable and stylish .The pool was great with plenty of loungers and shade.WE stayed a week which given the location was perfect.It is a bit of a trek and days out involve winding roades .We did a big shop on the way and I would highly recommend that as nearest store has limited supplies.Avoid san Gimingano ,too far,too touristy and too hot.Sienna much easier to get to and authentic.
