I have stayed in this hotel twice and absolutely loved it. The period decor is a bit shabby but beautiful, and there's no breakfast room so you get a nice continental breakfast brought to your room every morning. There are some nice kind of terrace gardens outside some of the rooms where you can sit and relax.

Clean, hospitable hotel with quaint rooms and a pleasant garden area. Moments walk from the Piazza del Campo, and just round the corner from the university and plenty of restaurants.

The only issue we had was with the bizarre check-in times - hauling a couple of suitcases up and down the hills of Siena to kill a couple of hours is no joke!

Hotel was situated inside the city walls and close to everything. Staff were very helpful and the rooms were large (can't say that about the bathroom) and clean. We felt we had stepped back in time with the decor - it must have been a fantastic large villa in its day.
No facilities like iron or tea making - no internet - so would like to have seen these available. One thing to bear in mind is there is no lift so, when you're on the 3rd floor, making your way up narrow winding stairs is difficult. Although we did find out about the back entrance later on. Be careful if hiring a car as you cannot park inside the city walls and parking stations outside can be very expensive. Would return to Siena and to this hotel.

great location near the campo and charming old building but it needs some upgrading badly. Mattresses are the cheapest most uncomfortable. Bare bones amenities; not even a box of kleenex. Not a decent lamp. Wonderful terrazzo and fair breakfast.
