My husband and I spent six nights at Casa Lari the first of June 2008. After two weeks with just a room and bath, it was nice to "spread out" in the small apt. Our unit had a nice size sitting/dining area and kitchenette, very nice bath, and large bedroom with double doors to a private balcony. The view from our balcony was postcard perfect. Also after two weeks of the standard European breakfast, we were craving an egg for breakfast. We made a trip to the new Coop in San Gimi for breakfast and other food supplies. It was nice to have a leisurely breakfast in our pj's and watch CNN Europe news while drinking a second cup of coffee. The facilities are very nice and the grounds beautiful. Small, clean, well-kept pool for swimming and cooling off. Nice, cool parking under the building. Located in small village of Pancole just a few kilometers from San Gimi. Nice and quiet. Very pretty and unique church just two minute walk. Don't miss seeing the life size Nativity Scene. After Mass on the Sunday we were there, the ladies of the church held a bake sale -- all "house made" cakes. We bought a Plum Cake that was delicioso! Highly recommend the restaurant at Hotel Le Renaie, down the street for dinner. We ate there twice and both times the food was very good and price reasonable. Overall, we were well pleased with Casa Lari. The only negatives were: a lot of noise from the family in the unit next to ours - two small children who cried and fussed quite a bit, late into the night; mattress not just firm but extremely hard - no give at all; and the sitting room has just a futon-type sofa that is not very comfortable for sitting. We had a couple days of hard rain when we stayed in and the seating was just not comfortable. Other than those few things, which weren't that much in the overall scheme of things, we had a great stay at Casa Lari and highly recommend it.
