“Spacious, clean, well equiped and good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

I have stayed at Casa Lari in Sept for 3 nights, as we planned to visit San Gimignano, Pisa, Lucca and Florence during our stay there, the location was perfect. It’s only 10 mins drive to San Gimignano, 50 mins to Pisa and Lucca, and 10 mins to Certaldo train station where we catch a train to Florence (1 hour train ride). Compare to the other accommodation I stayed near Siena afterwards where I paid almost double of what I’ve paid at Casa Lari, Casa Lari is great value!

The apartment was clean and spacious, towels are changed daily, the view from the bedroom balcony was magnificent, we had breakfast there every morning. The daily breakfast basket include juice, water, milk, grind coffee powder (there is a coffee make in the kitchen), pie, bread, jams, butter …. etc. There is an in-room safe right behind the bedroom door. The kitchen carried full set of utensils, pots and pans (different sizes), and a small oven to reheat your pie or make toast.

My stay at Casa Lari was very pleasant, I would highly recommend it to anyone who’s planning to visit Tuscany.

One suggestion to make it perfect would be WIFI internet, that would allow us to carry out our travel research and also clear up our backlogged work e-mails.

“PANCOLE, near San Gimignano”

We got lost looking for this great find. There are a couple Casa Lari's on Google Maps. This is in the small town of Pancole, right hand side after the church.
The women at check in was so friendly and gave us a bottle of wine at check-in. We had a top floor unit. It had a large family room with fold out sofa and a bedroom with a king size and a beautiful balcony. The bathroom was large. Everything was spotless. There was a safe. A breakfast basket was brought up each day. It consisted of orange juice, milk, jams, pastries and bread. The full kitchen was a bonus. We only used the fridge. Underground secure parking was great. We went into San Gimignano in the early evening when not too many tourist were around. The sunset view from the park is incredible! I wish we had time to use the pool. (It closes at 7pm) We stayed 2 nights. It is a 1 hour drive to Florence. Right down the street on the right side there is an Agriturismo that has wine and olive oil tasting. We really enjoyed our time there and bought 2 bottles. (Wish I could remember the name! And I wish I bought some white wine too).

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2010

Casa Lari was amazing and very secluded. It is a B&B setting. The owners do not stay at the inn. It is a very comfortable place to come back to at the end of long day exploring the countryside. All of the room have there own private entrance and it is very clean and well kept. Also, at the hotel across the street there is a very good restaurant

“Well Pleased with Casa Lari”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2008

My husband and I spent six nights at Casa Lari the first of June 2008. After two weeks with just a room and bath, it was nice to "spread out" in the small apt. Our unit had a nice size sitting/dining area and kitchenette, very nice bath, and large bedroom with double doors to a private balcony. The view from our balcony was postcard perfect. Also after two weeks of the standard European breakfast, we were craving an egg for breakfast. We made a trip to the new Coop in San Gimi for breakfast and other food supplies. It was nice to have a leisurely breakfast in our pj's and watch CNN Europe news while drinking a second cup of coffee. The facilities are very nice and the grounds beautiful. Small, clean, well-kept pool for swimming and cooling off. Nice, cool parking under the building. Located in small village of Pancole just a few kilometers from San Gimi. Nice and quiet. Very pretty and unique church just two minute walk. Don't miss seeing the life size Nativity Scene. After Mass on the Sunday we were there, the ladies of the church held a bake sale -- all "house made" cakes. We bought a Plum Cake that was delicioso! Highly recommend the restaurant at Hotel Le Renaie, down the street for dinner. We ate there twice and both times the food was very good and price reasonable. Overall, we were well pleased with Casa Lari. The only negatives were: a lot of noise from the family in the unit next to ours - two small children who cried and fussed quite a bit, late into the night; mattress not just firm but extremely hard - no give at all; and the sitting room has just a futon-type sofa that is not very comfortable for sitting. We had a couple days of hard rain when we stayed in and the seating was just not comfortable. Other than those few things, which weren't that much in the overall scheme of things, we had a great stay at Casa Lari and highly recommend it.

“Great Apartment in the Middle of Tuscany”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2006

If you want a "self-catering" apartment near to one of the most beautiful towns in Tuscany (San Gimignano), this is the place. As we were traveling with our son, daughter-in-law, and almost-2 year old grandson, we chose a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, common living room, kitchen apartment, with terraces overlooking the Tuscan hills. Casa Lari was very reasonable. They provided a breakfast basket which was adequate although nothing special; had we had more time to shop we would have stocked the place with better breakfasts. Casa Lari is modern but captures the Tuscan spirit beautifully.

  • Liked — spaciousness and the views
  • Disliked — breakfast
