“Absolutely great! 2nd visit.”

It is only a 3-star Hotel and does not pretend to be anything else! Which is brilliant. It's a few yards away from the Leaning Tower, has a great terrace with fab views.
I had stayed there before with my husband and liked it. This time I was there with my son, for 1 night and it served its purpose wonderfully.
It's clean, comfortable and very central. My son and I enjoyed breakfast too: it's typical Italian breakfast and if you expect anything else ... well either go to a more expensive Hotel (or different country!). If you are in italy, then pls do expect Italian food too, and breakfast is almost a non-talking point for Italians.
Service at breakfast was great: the lady in charge was very polite and attentive. The receptionist a star in her own right.
Will I go back again? Of course! Unbeatable location, service and price! And the more I go to the Tower, the more I like it!

“Good value for money in central location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2010

We stayed here for one night prior to travelling home. Having read some of the negative reviews we were a bit worried. However, i have to say that we worried unnecessarily.
Out room was clean, comfortable and a decent size. We could not have asked for a more central location - virtually in the shadow of the Leaning Tower.

We were with friends whose room was also perfectly adequate for the price we paid (80 euros per room inc breakfast). Our rooms were no's 1 and 2, don't know if this makes a difference.

Yes, the member of staff who checked us in could have smiled a bit more and her manner was a little officious, however she was polite, courteous and efficient. When we asked for a restaurant recommendation she came out into the street with us to point us in the right direction. And, leaving early for a flight next day, the taxi we had requested her to book for us turned up right on time at 4.15am.

I am a great believer that you get what you pay for and i think for the money we paid this hotel offered everything we needed - including free Wi-fi and one of the cheapest mini bars I've ever experienced in a hotel (1 euro 80 centre for a beer!).

“Great location, hotel was reasonable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 June 2010

The location is great, a few hundred meters from the tower of Pisa. Really great.

The price of $89 is not bad for the location and the room you get.

After arriving at 12noon the friendly receptionist handed us the key of the room. We got room number 1, which fronts the square where all tourists come and go. In my point of view it was not so crowded (can be the time of the year maybe). Our room was in good state: clean, spacious enough and it didn't smell. The bathroom also looked okay: clean, pretty new and it didn't smell.

We had a good view of the square and that was enjoyable. Make sure to close the door of the bathroom at night (or close the bathroom window) in order to prevent to let the mosquito's inside the bathroom and room.

The breakfast the following day was indeed not the best; croissants, cheese, sweet buns and other sweet breads, yoghurts and yoghurt drinks and cereals. The person serving it maybe needs to change jobs; he indeed wasn't talkative. Nevertheless it didn't bother me. The rest of the staff was very friendly.

One awkward thing was that you get two keys; one of the front door and one of your room. I figured out in the morning that there was nobody at the reception (before 7am) and that I could open up the door myself in order to go out.

I went out for some coffee and right across the street I was able to have some coffee which I took to the terrace of McDonalds on the Piazza there. While drinking it and having a view if the tower of Pisa I still think this wasn't a bad experience after all.

For me it was good to stay here one day; I liked it. But if you are looking for an upscale hotel, find something else (and ofcourse pay more aswell).

It got free wifi as well at a good speed.

“Leaning Tower ...just a world class javelin throw away from the hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2009

Conveniently located a world class javelin throw away from the hotel, is the thing you have come to see. Some 800 years ago the Tourism office in Pisa had a brain storming session. Absolutely nobody was visiting, and you couldn’t blame the crowded road network either. What Pisa needed was something to bring in the hoards, with credit cards flexing. The genius of building a landmark which is bent is the sign of a marketing man genius, possibly a relative of Gallileo and Norman Foster? Of course, Italy is awash with cowboy builders, and over a 150 years to construct it, they did a fine job. The first thing you discover as a car driver, is there is no on site parking so immediately you are handing over 8 more Euro for a nights parking. Needless to say there isn’t a free WIFI so that’s another 3 Euro an hour, for a painfully unreliable connection as well. In effect, you get a useable 30 minutes internet access, and what’s more the software makes it hard to ‘logout’ when you finished, so you don’t save your un-used time for later. The hotel makes a lot about the art to see … but its very basic stuff. A good draw when surfing the net for somewhere charismatic to stay, but the room made me laugh out loud when I opened the door. A very narrow bed, nowhere to unpack the bag (only the bed).
Expecting a view of the city perhaps?? WRONG. A view of the roof and all its drainage features, great if you are a plumber maybe but pants for those of us with normal jobs.. The breakfast was sparten to say the least; juice, cereal, croissant and a coffee, but who needs a ‘Full English’ anyway. The well publicised rooftop area is quite nice to sit out in, in the crisp cool morning air but there’s no worthwhile view as such. Without doubt though the big plus (and maximum marks out of 10) is the hotel is right on the entrance to the mall, in which the Leaning Tower is now a short walk, then hang a right and walk down straight to the river. So – it’s a slightly (probably an understatement, but it does keep the rain off) disappointing hotel experience, but superb location for the main sights. Your Euro, your choice.

“Unhappy staff detracted from experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2008

We booked for one night to visit the Duomo and Leaning Tower. We had not reserved a place in Pisa and called from the station, so we were relieved they had a room. The location is great, steps from the Duomo. Front desk staff friendly and helpful, but often on the phone (maybe business calls?).

Bathroom smelled slightly because shower drain was blocked. Good water pressure, very hot water. But water overflowed on to bathroom floor.

The big problem was when we went down to breakfast, the man in charge there did not greet us or smile once. He just looked at us expecting us to give him our tea/coffee requests. I couldn't tell if he was angry or just plain unhappy. He also put all the breakfast things away while we were still there without asking us if we were through. Then the cleaning ladies waited outside our door during breakfast expecting us to check out right away which we did not. After we returned from sightseeing, they were still sitting there.
