“Good Commuter Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

This was the perfect place to stay if you need to access the airport. If you're looking to be in the heart of Pisa, you might want to look elsewhere. You have to take a shuttle to the train station, which the hotel provides for free, but it's kind of away from everything. I needed to stay there because I had an early morning flight and needed to get up super early. Unfortunately, since it was off season, they shut down the short cut to the airport, so it still cost me 15 Euro to get to the airport via Taxi.

The room was clean and the staff was very helpful. The only two small complaints that I had were that the hotel wi-fi was a bit buggy in the lobby and that the hotel needed to be updated a little bit. It's got a modern feel, but an older one.

Room Tip: As always, just ask. People are more than willing to help if you just ask.

“average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

This hotel was recently rebranded to Golden Tulip exactly around the day we arrived. So was a bit confused when we arrived and found the hotel name was different. Around the area there is nothing much to see. Room is nice enough with reasonably comfortable bed. Breakfast was a standard fare and tasted alright. Recommended to stay here if you are flying out of Pisa the next day as it is close to airport.

“A convenient place to stay near Pisa Airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

My flight having arrived into Pisa Airport close to midnight, the Golden Tulip was a handy pitstop hotel before proceeding to Florence next morning. The reception was clean, with staff helpful and news headline sheets available in major European languages. Staying only one night, i only had time to give a cursory notice to facilities, but English-language TV and Wi-Fi were available, the bedrooms were comfortable and the dining facilities appeared perfectly adequate in the morning. The price of €100 per night may be slightly more expensive than other Pisan hotels, but the location, and thus saving on taxi fares largely eliminated the cost difference, so would heartily recommend the hotel.

“Good location and comfortable hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

The Golden Tulip Galilei Hotel (formerly My One Hotel brand) was a comfortable place for us to stay while spending a couple of days touring Pisa. The hotel has a free shuttle to central Pisa but do sign up the day before. We took it into town to sight-see at 8 am and then got a taxi back for 6 euros mid-afternoon when we were ready rather than waiting for the 4 pm shuttle return. The room was very comfortable (we like firm beds); has English language news stations on TV. Breakfast was fine with quite a bit of choice. The internet in the room is at a charge, but wireless in lobby is free. The lobby itself needs a re-do as it's rather grim--all in orange leather. The staff was helpful and friendly at the desk. Recommend a Slow Food restaurant 4.5 k on Aurelia Sud for dinner: Re di Puglia. Great entertainment to watch the chef in action at the center grill in the dining room and terrific food, too.

Room Tip: A room can look out onto the city in the distance.

“Excellent value for money, close to the airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

Just like many others, we chose this hotel because of its location close to the airport.

We landed in Pisa airport at 11PM and took a taxi to the hotel. The taxi was around 10 euros and took only 5 minutes.

Our rooms (triple room + double room) were very nice. Especially the triple room was huge. The breakfast was really good.

I took the shuttle bus to the airport car rental in the morning and did not have any problems with this service. If would have been nice if the shuttle bus would be available close to midnight too.

The reception was friendly and they all spoke English. I would appreciate if the service was a bit faster -- when we arrived in the middle of the night, the older man at the reception did not seem to be in too much hurry to serve us.

I can recommend this hotel if you're looking for good value for money close to the airport.

Room Tip: Triple room is huge and not much more expensive than double.
