Most of the reception staff were very welcoming and lovely, they would happily communicate in English although we used Italian as much as we could! We had room 112 on the first floor. I must say that it is definately a bit of a noisy room as the lift travels quite close by and the walls/doors and especially the windows do not do much to barricade the sound. The TV channels were plentysome but poor for us foreign travellers, they had lots of Italian only channels (fair enough, we are in Italy!)a music channel which happened to play a reasonable amount of english music and MTV which was sometimes in English and subtitled in Italian. In previous stays in Italy we have had a Sky News or BBC news channel in English so I guess we were a bit spoilt. If you stay here, please keep the windows shut, we welcomed in mosquito beasts and I was their dinner!
The breakfast was quite poor with only really pre-packaged cakes/crackers and spreads but there were fresh rolls most mornings.
I agree with previous reviewers that the bar is never opened or manned. Although the computer use is cheap, it is really blimming slow and frequently disconnected itself.
There was a lovely restaurant just up the road called "Trattoria da Michele" which was lush and I would certainly recommend a visit.
The location is great for the train station and within a nice walking distance of the river.
I would recommend staying here if you are going to be travelling away from Pisa most days or are only staying for a short period purely due to noise levels.
