I just spent one night here while attending a conference in hotel.
The rooms are ok. The style of the decor is typical of the area. Rustic style, grey marble that kind of thing. If the bathroom and especially shower was a little bit bigger I would have given it a 4. The shower is so small that when I was showering every time I turned I managed to knock the sliding doors which left a gap for the water to leak through.
One other point is that there is no bar in the hotel so they have some fridges at the front desk from which you can purchase drinks but there are no bottle openers in the too ms so you have to open the bottle there and then which seems a little strange. All in all it's not a bad place but these two points left me a little disappointed.

Basic but tranquil accomodation, not a place to bring the kids. Very good breakfast with great coffee. Nice pleasant staff. No bar but cheap beer and wine from the reception shop which can be consumed in the courtyard at night. The old monastery is full of character and a perfect place to unwind. Bus service to central Pisa is just outside and the excellent Bella Napoli restaurant is only a 5 minute walk down a twisted cobbled street. The rooms are adequate and not luxurious but very clean and quite comfortable. This is the perfect place for a mini break (away from the kids). Very close to Pisa Gallileo Gallilei airport but conveniently off the tourist trail. Church bells ring @7am which only adds to the character of the place and the Sunday service in the adjoining church draws locals to prayer. We will definately go back :)

Everyone's idea of the best hotel is subjective, but this hotel is high on my list.
it is a converted monastery and the rooms retain much of the original features including wall decorations. This is a prime example where less is more. The rooms are incredibly atmospheric and have a unique charm. It does need to be experienced to believe how peaceful this hotel is. The square in the centre of the hotel offers an experience which I adore. The square at the centre of the hotel feels very protected and is gloriously beautiful. I chose to spend a day just reading books in the garden there. It was a day i will treasure.

To get to the facilities, the room I stayed in was a monks cell and was very plain in a very lovely way. The bathroom was effectively the next monk's cell converted into a very luxurious marble lined room. All the facilities were immaculately clean and well provided with toiletries from the local providers, which means the that the hotel makes the effort to give the guest the finest toiletries there are.

The staff are very attentive way beyond what I would expect. I deeply appreciate one employee of the hotel walking with me into Pisa town and showing me a little piazza of bars and restaurants which only the locals would know existed.

In addition, this is the only hotel I know which has a church as an integral part of the building!

It's a breathtaking place for someone who is looking for a place where you can experience old monastery atmosphere. The courtyard, rooms and the surroundings bring you to the period when the monks walked along and prayed. At night you could even hear their steps along the halls. Everything is refurbished and modernised to make your staying as comfortable as possible. Rooms and bathrooms are clean, well-maintained, with the facilities ready to accommodate the disable people. The restaurant served tasty local food at moderate prices. All in all, it is a truly amazing monastery/hotel to spend a few nights in.
