In July 2011 we stayed an Welcome B&B for two nights. The rooms are nice and tidy, the interior looks great!
The owner was very welcoming and also flexible (we were able to book an extra night without reservation). A city map and some useful information, like a very good pizza restaurant (!!) were given to us.
You can easily walk to the city centre (25-30 minutes to the tower), although the B&B is located a little bit outside at a main road. We didn´t mind the road noises, because we had a room to the back - BUT the B&B is directly under the approaching path of the Pisa International Airport. Don´t worry, you can sleep well at night, because from 10 p.m. till 7 a.m. the aircrafts are grounded!!
The shared bathrooms are also nice and tidy, not a standard in Italy!
What we think was very lovely, was the fridge with water, soft drinks, beer and wine downstairs. It worked through a honesty box and was very useful :)
Sadly, the Wi-Fi didn´t work.....
The Breakfasts was simple, but well. Coffee, tea, juice, hot chocolate, toast, cooked eggs, jam, nutella ;), cake etc. (no cheese or hearty stuff). The staff was very friendly and helpful!!
If you arrive by car - it´s somehow hard to find, because it´s very unimpressive from the outside and has just a very small sign.... It´s located between to parking grounds. (look it up in google street view)
All in all - we would recommend this B&B for a short stay, but only because we felt that Pisa has nothing more to offer, than what you can experience in 1 or 2 days ;)
