My daughter and I stayed here for two nights but would have enjoyed more. We were upgraded to an apartment on arrival and enjoyed the novelty of the kitchenettes, which we couldn't actually find because it was inside a converted wardrobe. We only used the fridge and a couple of plates but there was a stove and a little oven and sink...useful if you have tiny children. The highlight was the pool complete with hammock, deck lounges and gazebos - the pool itself is superb. The rooms are bare stone walls with rather quaint, perhaps overly rustic/antique furnishings, but the bed is comfy, the bathroom spotless, the service excellent, the breakfast a feast and the room space very good. Only gripes were a running toilet cistern and not enough light - I guess the antique atmosphere lends itself to dimness but frankly I could barely see my book at night.

The room has a lovely kitchenette and grounds are homely and relaxing with play equipment and a lovely pool area. This is an excellent base or touring with a family. Lucca is a short drive away.

Our family of 5 - children aged 14, 12 and 8 - loved this hotel. Clean and spacious rooms, friendly staff, and nice quiet location with walking distance of the old city. The bonus was the swimming pool, which we used every afternoon after sightseeing.

we (family with 2 kids 10 and 14 years old) booked this hotel as our first stop in Italy. We booked for one night, but wouldn't have minded to stay here longer though. We has booked the spacious apartment on the ground floor (Prometheus room), near the swimming pool. The room was very quiet and very nicely decorated. Just one remark on the beds: one of the beds has a wooden shelf situated just 30 cm above it. Our eldest son bumped his head and his shoulder quite a few times during the night.
The garden and swimming pool were lovely, although the swimming pool wasn't heated and therefore very cold. This was something we came cross everywhere we stayed. With 30+ temperatures this is not much of a problem, but with temperatures in the mid twenties (as we experienced in Lucca) ....not so nice. Breakfast was simple, but with nice coffee. The historic centre of Lucca is at walking distance if you don't mind a 10-15 minute walk). Ample parking is available on site.
