We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. The staff was really excellent. We felt like home. The hotel offers a very nice breakfast (fresh fruit, Joghurt, bread, toast, rolls, ham, salami, eggs...) until 10.30 am and offers in addition from 11.00 am to 7 pm free coffee, cappucino, beverages and small appetizers. We had 3 dogs with us and the staff offered us a spacious comfortable room with a nice bathroom (no extra costs-based on availability of course). Our dogs were also really welcomed at this hotel. The staff was very attentive and helped us with every request that we had. Location is also excellent inside the famous walls of Lucca.

We stayed for 3 days at Ilaria last December and had a great time! As we were in 4, 2 adults and 2 children, we booked a suite. The suite is not in the Hotel but in an annex (Residenza dell Alba - 50 metres from the Hotel). The apartment (cannot be called a room) is astonishing! Big and modern all in wood and glass. It has two floors, two huge bathrooms and is really big to fit four people with lots of comfort. The staff was always very kind and ready to help you. Make sure to have a bike ride in the walls of the old city. Amazing program for all ages. The hotel is very weel located inside the walled city, walking distance from nice chops and delicious restaurants. Very good value for the price! Worth every cent!

We go to Tuscany often and, having arrived at Pisa, we want to stay a few days in a civilized place and a comfortable hotel before disappearing into the wilderness to the villa. We have stayed at several of the hotels in and around Lucca (the only really civilised city near Pisa) but having found Ilaria we always go there and have not been disappointed, really. The air-con is sometimes a bit uncertain in the luxurious annex but a call to the desk soon sorts it out. The rooms are very comfortable (and not cavernous as some decent Luccan hotels provide). The staff are always helpful and cheerful, the host is most friendly and a bit crazy in a very endearing italian way. The situation is exactly right, very near the centre (within the walls of course, don't stay outside, you miss all the fun) but not in the least bit crowded or noisy. I have just booked our next visit with greedy anticipation.

The service at this hotel was fantastic. We stayed here for 3 nights in December. It is in a great location to explore Lucca. Bikes are provided free of charge which is a great way to explore the town.
Breakfast is good, refreshments are also provided throughout the day free of charge. In room wifi is also adequate.
If I had to fault the hotel the only thing I could say is the beds are a little hard. This is a great hotel and would definitely stay here again.
