This hotel exceeded our expectations. Normally, a Best Western in the US is middle of the road, nothing of note. This hotel is classier: nice foyer, nice breakfast area and the room was fine as well. It has free parking, which is also a plus. Granted, it is out of the main part of Lucca, but for us, that was a plus as well. The staff was helpful, giving us a great guide to venture out into the countryside. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and of pretty good quality. Nothing bad to say...a pleasant two night stay for us.

Stayed in Lucca 7 nights. Hotel is very good though distance from city centre is a disadvantage particularly as buses dont run after 8pm. Taxis cost anything from 8euros to 15euros. Hotel staff courteous, helpful and friendly at all times
Walled city is a gem and is ideal for walking about with no traffic other than bicycles to worry about. Good train connections to Pisa Florence and other destinations at low rates

just take care if you have to move during sunday morning. It sound like crazy but there is no bus service till 3pm from the hotel (quite far away from the center) to lucca

The hotel is very good. Location is fine. Bus stop right outside of the hotel, if you don't travel by car it is very convenient that you don't have to walk too far to get public transportation. You can buy bus tickets at the front desk of the hotel as well. We were not impressed with the customer service skills at the front desk though. When we checked in, the receptionist who was working on that shift was very friendly and helpful. But she was the only one. Everybody else that we met was not even close to be called friendly. The day we arrived, we had to wait for about 35 minutes to be able to go to our room because they were not ready yet. We found that not very professional, since you do expect guests to be there since reservation was not cancelled. One of the evelator's door was closing way too fast, and got caught at the door when we were getting on the elevator. That wasn't very pleasant. Restaurant was very clean and pleasant, and the staff who worked there was VERY friendly and professional. Bottom line: aside lack of customer service skills at the front desk, and the one not very safe elevator to get on; everything else was very good.
