We stayed at this hotel in October 2008. If you are going without a car, the bus truly stops in front of the hotel. In some other reviews I read this is not true. This bus takes you to the center of Fiesole, where you just hop on to the bus to Florence city. You need just one ticket to Florence, its 2 EUR and the ride is about 20/25 minutes alltogether. Also, I read here that the 'last part of the road is gravel'. True. But not the last part of the ROAD, but the pathway from the road to the hotel, which is about 5-8 meters, is gravel! With parking for cars provided. We went by car and have to tell you that the GPS sent us through a lovely hillside with villas and castles around Florence, but completely the wrong way, and in the hotel we were informed that most GPS systems do that. So please ask for directions on your way before leaving the highway or similar.
The hotel is lovely, very quiet. The staff is friendly, and quite helpful. The breakfast is poor, but I've seen it worse in Italy. The nature and the view are beautiful, so is Fiesole itself. If you go to the Barberino Outlet, take the country road (the receptionist will explain), its worth it! The photos on the official presentation are candid enough. I'd even say that the beauty of the view and the nature cannot be captured.

I was extremely disappointed with the poor service and management of the hotel. First, they lost our reservation. Then, the hot water was not working in the room, and the shower door actually was broken, as well as the handle on the door to the outside. It advertised air conditioning, but they wouldn´t turn it on and there were no screens on the patio doors to keep the mosquitoes out. We moved rooms and it was impossible to shave my legs in the shower with the shower door closed because it was so incredibly tiny (I live in Europe, so it isn´t rare to find a small shower, but this was really weird). Whenever we had to ask about the lost reservation, the lack of hot water, etc, the manager was so defensive it was embarrassing for me as a customer. If I had a million euros I would buy the place and turn it totally around, and could. There was no landscaping and the towels actually were like bedsheets and they never even changed our bedsheets at all. The best and only thing this place has going for it is the amazing location. I just wish I was rich enough to buy it and run it the way it should be run.

We spent 6 days here in October 2007 and feel we were misled regarding the accessability of this hotel. We were led to understand that a bus from Firenze stopped at the door, but it stopped in the village of Fiesole and left us to walk 1.5km along a narrow, dangerous road, the last part of the journey being outwith the village with no lighting or any kind of pavement. Even in the village the pavement was very very narrow.
Once in the hotel we were really captive because there were no taxis available from Fiesole and we would have had to hire one from Firenze which would have been extremely expensive as the cost is calculated from the time of ordering and the journey could be 40 mins just to collect us. We ended up having to hire a car to overcome this difficulty. ALthough polite the staff were not at all concerned with our plight.
Really it is hard to understand how this venue is called a 'hotel' It is really just a Bed and Breakfast establishment. Breakfast was minimal with croissant, white bread, jams and very unexciting processed ham and cheese slices, not what we expected in Italy. Even our pots of hot water for tea in the morning were only half filled, we had to request top ups. There was no food available apart from breakfast and we were charged extra for a pot of tea in the evening which we required to heat us up. It was cold and although the public areas were heated, there was no heating in the bedroom. There was no lounge to sit in so the bedroom was where we had to stay.
The pool area was lovely and I'm sure in the Summer it would be a very pleasant place to stay providing you have your own transport. that is definitely an essential.

The rooms are not very clean.

The towels are awful, they look more like table clothes.

They don’t have any kind of food during the day, so there’s no way you can spend the day at the pool. The Hotel literaly send you out.

To get to the town (Fiesole) you have to walk 1,50 km in a very dangerous Road.

To get the bus to Florence you have to make that walk to Fiesole to find the bus stop.
