Stay here instead! We spent two nights at Torre di Buiano outside of Fiesole. It's on the hill overlooking Florence and the surrounding Tuscany hills. Absolutely beautiful B&B that has only three guest rooms, but concentrates all attention to every detail in those rooms. We had the suite, which included a separate bedroom for one more person. Our room was decorated in a soothing yellow and gold washing on the walls, along with a white bedspread on a lovely wicker bed. The shuttered window opened to the grapevine below and gave us a nice view of the surrounding vineyard. One lovely addition--the bath towels had the most delicate hint of lavender scent that could only come from washing them with actual lavender. Our hosts were a charming British-born man, Antony, and his lovely Italian wife, Elisabetta. We were fed a wonderful breakfast, had our own private bathroom, and paid under $100 euro for the night. It was a terrific place and a short drive to Fiesole, where one can catch the local bus down to Florence for $1 euro each way.
