These appartments are brilliantly situated within 5 mins walk of most of the main attractions of Florence yet in a student area with reasonably priced restaurants and convenient supermarkets.
Ours was appointed and furnished very comfortably and all appliances etc. worked well. The main lack however which was a nuiscance was the lack of a washing machine and dryer. There is a laundromat around the corner but that's not quite as convenient.
Also the other minor drawback was that the pub just down the road was rather noisy (maybe closing shutters would have helped )- not too bad though and only what can be expected when you are close to the centre.
We had a very pleasant stay and it was great to have our own home base for the week we were in Florence.

We have been at San Gallo Apartments since November, 2008 and are staying till April, 2009, We have had a wonderful time in Florence alot due to the apartment we are staying in. It is a two Bedroom apartment with two full baths (one with a tub/shower and one with a shower). This apartment is very clean. It is a great location, about a 10-15 minute walk to Domo and a 15-20 minute walk to PT. Veccico Bridge which after eating a great florence meal is just right. The great thing Bridge to San Gallo. I say this because wheather you stay a week or Many weeks it is easy to get off track in Florence and street maps and streets have so many names on them it is sometimes hard to find you way. This is easy. One great thing about the apartment is that the two bed rooms are separated by the Small kitchen, living area, hallway (which is a great area to do computer work). This provides privacy when you have company or if two couples are traveling together. There is a pull out sofa bed in the living area but have not tried it.

Lorenzq and Franchesca are both wonderful people, very helpful in getting you oriented and in following up to make sure everything is good. The only negative is having to walk up two flights of stairs but an elevator just would not be the same in this building. There is also a similar apartment one floor down with the same amenities. I do not want anyone thinking this is a five star apartment, its not It is a very good apartment.

The apartment also has WIFI internet and TV with a lot of programs in english which if you are staying for a while is good.

The apartment is also surrounded by great little family business which have great wines, cheases vegatables and oother items, There are some really good restarunts in the area as well as pizza places. It is just a great location.

This is withingwalking distance of most of the American Universities and if not the bus is a block away and the train is a 15 minute walk, so no problem getting around although walking down these old street is more exciting. You do not need a car here but if you want to go out of florence there are car rental agencies and buses of course trains around the train station. You can always call a taxi for the Airport (15- 20 minutes away)which is usually here within 5 minutes. To travel europe from florence there are cheap airelines like ryanair and travania which goes from Pisa Airport which is a direct train ride from Florence or other deals from the florence airport

My husband and I have stayed at Residenza San Gallo several times in the last few years. We came back this summer with our nephew and were pleased to see that it is still perfect. The apartment we have rented has two bedrooms and baths, a sitting room, kitchen and a terrace. We have seen several of the other apartments (there are 5 in the building) and they all look very nice. The location is convenient (very close to Piazza San Marco) and the apartments are immaculate and extremely comfortable. Mariangela Masoero (the owner) is gracious, knowledgeable, and speaks perfect English. The website is http://www.residenzasangallo.com. If, like us, you like the flexibility of being in an apartment instead of a hotel, I don' think you could do better in Florence. Like most places in the centro in Florence, it would be best not to have a car while you're here!

These are really great apartments in a good section of Florence. it's family run. I've seen all the apartments they are different but well furnished.. They have large refrigerators and good views for the most part. Mariangella IS WONDERFUL runs the apartments for her family.The pictures on the website are good and fairly represent the apartments.I can't think of a better and safer place to rent in florence.
