I have lived in Florence for a school semester and two summers and I would recommend no other place in the city to stay than Hotel Silla for short and long visits. My apartment that I lived in was on the same street so I can say from personal experience that the location is safe, beautiful, convenient, and wonderful. I had multiple visitors when I lived there who all stayed at Hotel Silla. Having stayed there myself when I came back to visit as well, I and my visitors had nothing but good things to say about it.

It's a fanastic location, right near the Ponte alle Grazie which offers a beautiful view of the famous Ponte Vecchio. It's a 8-10 minute walk to Piazzale Michelangelo which offers the most beautiful view of the city. It's also a 8-10 minute walk to the Duomo. The breakfast terrace is gorgeous and when the trees are not full with leaves, you can get a view of the duomo and the whole city. Right next to the hotel, there is a farmacy and a small market, which is very convenient during your stay.

The people at the hotel could not be nicer. They speak great English and are very helpful in any problems you may have as well as suggestions to where to go. It's a great safe area. The hotel is VERY clean and beautiful. Breakfast is full and served in a beautiful room, when the weather is too cold to go onto the terrace.

Also, for a wonderful stay in Florence, Hotel Silla offers extremely reasonable rates for the great service and accomodation you will get!

We have just returned from a business trip to Florence and have again stayed at the Silla where we must have been a dozen times before and everything was as it always is! Friendly reception staff, always willing to help, clean comfortable rooms and a good continental breakfast. The location is wonderful, set back a little way from the road which runs alongside the Arno so it's quiet- away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre yet within easy walking distance of all the sights and the shops! We'll definitely be back next year!

Fab location in a lovely old building opposite any hustle and bustle over the river Arno. Very warm and welcoming service. Free wifi and good breakfast selection. The rooms very clean and spacious. Excellent value, we have found our place in Florence for further visits.
